Lauren is a proud pet parent to an Old English Bulldog named Buster Rhymes. Her ideal weekend involves waking up without an alarm and indulging in her love for F1 and football. Lauren has a diverse athletic background, having been a ballerina, and playing softball and basketball, although she modestly admits she wasn't very good. 😊 Fun fact - Lauren once had the exciting opportunity to meet Lewis Hamilton. “NO FEAR” Some people ask me if I’m nervous in front of certain types of people? I learned a technique that really helped me be able to speak comfortably in front of all types of people of any status. ⭐️ LL Cool J, for example, one of the biggest superstars in entertainment, but all I saw was a New York Yankee fitted cap, white T-shirt, jeans and Timberland boots. 🏠 I’m from New York City, this is all I saw every day at the park, at school, at the club, on the train and in the studio. I’ve been comfortable talking to that type person my whole life, matter fact I’m that person as well, so why should it be any different Talking to LL Cool J? 💡 So in that moment, I have exactly the conversation that I wanna have with him. Talk to him about sports, about television and about film. Overtime, if you practice this technique instead of thinking about his or her celebrity, you can then speak to anybody in the world. Today in class reading on being a steady leader, it really hit today. This last weekend we had a fair in our teeny tiny rural county. It wasnt a county fair but a town fair. They call it "The Worlds Smallest Fair" It was fun, and the kids won cash prizes too. Very inclusive as we are a melting pot of mostly Causcasion/Native American mix people. BEAUTIFUl! Jobs should be like this! So let me brag a minute. Every year they have a challenge called Plank Race. My kids are always at eachoher necks and even chores that might require teamwork are done with scorn and agruing. God bless them babies. They will learn 🤣. My kids volunteered themselves all on one team, And they won! Ages 10,13,14,16 They won 1st place even against the towns adults. I was so excited! They can do anything they put their minds too! Are there any companies that formally keep in touch with their ex-employees? The ones that gave years of quality service. Like most schools and sports clubs do. Are there any companies that have regular 'Back To's', or a type of 'Old Boys/Girls Club', or even provide some sort of 'Emeritus' role like Academia does? • Wesley College keeps sending me updates on what notable ex-students are doing now 😊, as well as an 𝘐𝘯 𝘔𝘦𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘶𝘮 section. 😢 • My Sydney Swans footy club has an internal career path for the right ex-players, as well as regular ex-Player events. I don't know of any companies that do something similar. Sometimes there are pockets of ex-workers that may unofficially catch up, but the company doesn't organise them. Some companies I've worked in, I've seen the opposite. One MD wouldn't let leaving employees farewell the business, no matter how long or effective their contribution may have been. For companies that have been around a while, I'd like to know if there is an opportunity to add to the culture by establishing an ex-employee guild of some sort. I'd be interested to hear if anyone has seen something like that in place. #oldboysclub #oldgirlsclub #exemployee
