Three Things Employers Get Wrong About Marketing Coordinators The job title “Marketing Coordinator” didn’t exist just a short 10-12 years ago, so there’s still a good bit of “trial and error” going on in the business world about what exactly a marketing coordinator is and does. Sure, it can be slightly different from company to company, but when it comes the coordinator position, employers tend to get a few things just plain WRONG: 1.        Marketing Coordinators are basically just administrators. While many people may start in the coordinator position, most actually have ambitions to grow and become leaders in their craft. 3.       Marketing Coordinators are easy to find and are a dime a dozen. Wrong! A true marketing coordinator is tough to find. You need someone with drive, dedication, and a passion for marketing. They need to be both organized and task-oriented, but understand and thrive in the creative world.
