In the third of five reports published as part of our Charter School Equity, Growth, Quality, and Sustainability Study, we explored the influence of non-profit organizations on the experiences of students with disabilities in charter schools. Our key findings indicate that nonprofits can play a critical role in building capacity and introducing accountability in locations where states and authorizers are not exerting their authority fully. Reflecting upon my own upbringing, I recall a lack of access to quality education, a limitation that hindered the acquisition of even the most fundamental literacy skills. With the passage of time, this narrative replayed itself in the lives of countless other children. It was then, amid these shared experiences, that a fervent desire was kindled within me. A desire that is steer towards the change in educational sector ensuring that every child, regardless of circumstance, is bestowed with the gift of a quality education.
