🚀 Just wrapped up our M09 ODE4HERA meeting! ✈️ What’s an M09 meeting, you ask? Every three months, the entire ODE4HERA consortium comes together, alternating between online and in-person meetings. Today, we had our third consortium meeting, held in Month 9 (M09) of the project. These gatherings are crucial for keeping everyone aligned. We discussed coordination, dissemination, and communication activities, reviewed the technical progress of each work package, and gathered invaluable feedback from all partners. We kicked-off the definition of the Common Ontology Bases based on SysMLv2 enabling exchange between the different ODE4HERA Platform modules. Additionally, we reviewed the Platform Requirement Model based on RDF. Nine months in, and we’re proud to say great technical strides have been made! Thank you to everyone who took part! Chinese scientists have revealed that a jumbo jet prototype reached hypersonic speeds during a 2021 test flight, attaining Mach 6.56, or about 5,033 mph. This achievement marks China's success in aerospace technology. The secretive test flight was conducted at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Centre in the Gobi Desert. Recently, the Chinese Academy of Sciences posted a video showing the launch of the prototype and an interview with project leader Cui Kai on how they overcame some design challenges. The flight lasted for 20 minutes, marking a critical achievement in hypersonic aircraft development and clearing the way for future innovations in high-speed aviation. China's advancement in this field has focused attention on its engineering prowess in cutting-edge aerospace technology. . . . #Hypersonic #China #Aerospace #JumboJet #Mach6 #Technews #FlightTest #Science #Engineering #Speed #Technology #AviationBreakthrough #ChineseInnovation #HighSpeedFlight #GlobalTech #Tribunetrends

The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) selected a paper that Victor Beazel and I coauthored with Jim Negro and Steve Griffin from Boeing, as one of the top 10 technical papers in 2024. The citation of the paper is given below: James Negro, Steven F. Griffin, Bryan L. Kelchner, and Victor Beazel, "Inertial Stable Platforms for Precision Pointing of Optical Systems in Aerospace Applications, " AIAAJ, Vol. 61, No. 8 (2023), pp. 3234-3246 doi: doi/abs/10.2514/1.J062768 As a result AIAA Journal will host an Online seminar with the authors to allow for participants to ask us questions. The seminar is scheduled for 3 pm EDT on Thursday, 23 January. The paper highlight sthe technical trade study to evaluate strap down stabilized platforms versus Inertial Stable Platforms for airborne and space based electro optical and directed energy systems. If you are interested in the topic, here is the link where you can register to participate in the seminar: https://lnkd.in/guJycjJG Although I have been out of pocket for medical reasons for the past 4 months, my Co-authors selected this date so I could participate in the Seminar. I hope you can attend the Seminar and post your questions with the host, the Senior Editor for AIAAJ.
