Today in my Plant Science class with Michael Nattrass, we discussed carotenoids and Xanthophylls. He went into depth on how Carotenoids produce the yellow and orange color in leaves and how Xanthophyll produces the bright yellow. I thought this was amazing learning on how the leaves get their color! Tennessee Technological University #TNTech #WeAreTNTech #WingsUp #TechisTN #TNtechag.

🌍🌎🌏Reflections of a COO... Breaking Barriers in Engineering Biology 🌏🌎🌍 Exciting times ahead as I prepare to join a panel at the SYNBITECH conference with BBIA and Holiferm , diving into the challenges and blockers facing UK engineering biology. One thing is clear: for the UK to truly lead, we need to decentralise and spread innovation across the nation. Agile clusters are the key—flexible, collaborative hubs that can drive rapid scaling and transformation. It’s not just about growth; it’s about building a network that makes engineering biology accessible, impactful, and globally competitive. Looking forward to sharing ideas and hearing thoughts from others committed to driving this industry forward. Let’s make it happen. #EngineeringBiology #UKInnovation #ScalingSuccess #SYNBITECH #Collaboration #biosurfactants #sophorolipids #ukmfg

🌊 It's Week 3 of #PlasticFreeJuly, and today B'ZEOS is looking back on the #Plastisea Project! The consortium coordinated by SINTEF Industry, brought together research institutes, universities, and B'ZEOS to: 👉Utilize sustainably cultivated brown seaweed to validate material development. 👉Analyze the entire value chain, from raw material to the end-of-life, to ensure sustainability from start to finish. 👉Conduct a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) for B'ZEOS seaweed-based materials. As a result of the project, our team worked hands-on with experts across the value chain, including seaweed specialists, material scientists, and research institutes, to validate our innovative technology. 🔬 Science, R+D, and sustainability drive the core of what we do at B'ZEOS. 🌱 Exciting News from Build-a-Thon 2024! 🚀 From 18-20th October 2024, our team from HexTech participated in the weekend-long Build-a-Thon Hackathon, organized by Solaride, where innovators from various industries came together to tackle real-world challenges. Our project, Blindspot, was inspired by an idea proposed by Sunly and focuses on improving solar panel maintenance through advanced software solutions. By integrating autonomously flying drones equipped with thermal cameras, our software analyzes footage to detect malfunctioning solar panels and pinpoints their exact locations, streamlining repairs and cutting down on wasted resources. As the winners of Sunly’s challenge, we’re excited to move forward and begin developing this solution further. With Blindspot, we estimate the potential to reduce 12,000 kg of CO2 emissions annually at Sunly’s parks alone by replacing car trips with our drone-based solution. As more solar parks adopt this technology, the environmental impact could grow even further, making solar panel maintenance more efficient and sustainable worldwide. We’re looking forward to the next steps as we scale this software to help solar parks worldwide operate more sustainably and efficiently. 🌞💻 Check out our video to see how our solution is transforming solar panel maintenance! https://lnkd.in/eMMBdudR #Buildathon2024 #GreenEnergy #SolarPanelSoftware #Innovation #Sustainability #Sunly #Solaride #HexTech #TechForGood
