The tire industry is evolving daily.

Pirelli is on track to secure the tire contract for next year's F1 season, keeping rival companies at bay once again. However, rumors suggest that this could be their final lap as the tire supplier. The challenge lies in the marketing. F1 tires are engineered and manufacturered for quicker degradation, ensuring more frequent pit stops. This directly contradicts what consumers are looking for. They want durable, long-lasting tires for everyday use. This presents a tire-some position for Pirelli. If a new player like Bridgestone takes the wheel, they could be looking to loby towards longer-lasting tires on the F1 circuit. I don't see that being something the FIA would look to entertain though. Would a shift towards longer-lasting tires to align better with consumer expectations positively impact the sport? Material Handling fact day #112 Sorry for the delay everyone, was down enjoying the happiest place on earth. Did you know treading on the wheels doesn't help you at all? No seriously! You will have MUCH better traction with a flat smooth face as opposed to a treaded/grooved face. The ONLY reason why consumer automobiles are designed this way is due to rain. That's why you'll never see NASCAR or Formula 1 with treaded tires. They just flat stop the race when it's raining. Maybe F1 doesn't, but they're crazy so more power to them. There are several reason why USA is such an important market for Formula 1. The number of partners from USA is on a record level. For the manufacturers, especially Ferrari, Aston Martin, McLaren and Mercedes USA is a key market for growth. A good example is Ferrari. In Q3 Ferrari N.V. reported a 21 % growth in shipments to Americas, a market area including USA.

Ferrari N.V. reported a record Full Year result 2023 and growth is one central driving force. The shipments to Americas, including USA, was up 10,6 % and total shipments to Americas was 3811, a new record, in 2023. USA is such an important market for Ferrari N.V. but it is a strong market also for Scuderia Ferrari, when we look at the partnership network. I would reckon Scuderia Ferrari have room for two (2) more partners from the USA 2024. Interesting to follow the progress.

Lancia, famed for its 1980s World Rally Championship triumphs, has revealed the new Ypsilon city hatch, marking the start of a shift towards predominantly electric models. This launch comes as a replacement for the previous Ypsilon, which has been Lancia's sole offering since 2014. Despite being introduced in 2011, the outgoing Ypsilon remains the third best-selling car in Italy, where Lancia continues to operate after withdrawing from other European markets in 2017.
