How to ensure youth volunteerism in the rescue field and helping to cope different disasters? 🆘 🔴 Participating should be easy: It should be possible for a young people to participate without being a member of an organisation or a group. 🔴 Plan activities together with young people: Good way to support volunteerism is to engage volunteers planning activities together with authorities. 🔴 Hear the views of young people: Young people can and are willing to participate in different kinds of civil protection activities and the voices of young volunteers are to be heard in planning activities. 🔴 Provide training and support: Youth potential in preparedness should be strengthened by providing youth education, training and support and by promoting youth volunteerism and young people’s skills in communication. It is also important to have a designated person responsible for guiding young volunteers to their tasks. 🌍 Do we truly hear the voices of all volunteers? In our video ‘Voices of Volunteers,’ we highlight the experiences of volunteers whose voices are often marginalized. Produced during the Decolonise Training in Visual Storytelling by Gloria Dzugkoeva and Feyza Gül Akbulut(She/Her) , this video emphasizes the need to bring these perspectives to the forefront and ensure that every volunteer’s story is valued. Creating an inclusive and equitable volunteering sector requires us to listen more closely and to ensure that all voices are heard and respected. 📄 Amplify the Voices: Our policy papers offer strategies for fostering inclusion and ensuring that every volunteer’s experience is part of the global narrative. Read them to learn how we can create spaces where all voices are valued. In the analysis Index for social inclusion of young people at the local level 2023-2024 📊 the social inclusion of young people at the local level is assessed with an average value of 41%, which is at the lower limit of the average inclusion. As many as 55% of municipalities are categorized as "unsatisfactory" ⚠️ in terms of youth involvement. The results of the ranking show that rural municipalities have greater difficulties in dealing with these challenges, which requires further research into the reasons for this situation. 📑You can see the full analysis at this link https://lnkd.in/dybv8zs5 Follow us to learn more, in the following posts we will look in detail at each of the indicators of social inclusion of young people! ✨ This analysis is part of the "Youth Inclusive Local Communities" project, which is implemented in partnership with the Local Community Development Foundation, Youth Empowerment Platform - YEP and SFERA INTERNATIONAL Bitola, with support from the European Union. #LocalYouthAction #LocalYouthParticipation

🤔Imagine a stranger getting into your house and start giving orders, telling you how you are doing things wrong and wants you to change to the way they like it themselves...It sounds rude ~ You feel disrespected, right? ⚡This is exactly how it feels when organizations get into communities and without their consent and considerations, interrupt their way of life in the name of development projects and interventions. ⚡They want to disrupt the communities' ways of life without being considerate. Without knowing why the community is living the way it is. ⚡Assuming that whatever the communities have been doing is not right and that whatever the organization brings is the right thing. ⚡Organizations seeing themselves as the savior to these communities and forgetting that the communities existed for centuries without the organizations. ⚡Not to be misquoted, I do not disregard the contributions of these organizations in bettering our communities, but the right process must be followed. They must appreciate that nothing is for the communities without the communities. #CommunityLedDevelopment #CLD_HCD #LocalCommunities #SustainableDevelopment CorpsAfrica The Movement for Community-led Development Community development association ( EL-Mobadara ) GSFN CDS Organization Dr Renuka Thakore Representing Global Communities Michael Muiya R Elwin Yves Delphin Gasore Nelly Iminza Grace Mathinji Augustine Njuguna

What it is the impact of our UNITE Youth programme? Check out their latest impact report! "At UNITE, we began 2023 with a bang. We transformed words into action; we put activism into practice; and, for the first time, UNITE was more visible and involved with communities where most of our youth resides. Our community involvement led to new partnerships with impactful organisations working on the ground and gave our youth fresh perspectives on how they can be involved, have a say in their community, and influence decisions by local leaders, organisations and government representatives. They are now more aware of where they should seek help within their communities. A positive shift in 2023 was the significant increase in the number of boys joining the programme. Historically, boys have been reluctant to involve themselves with programmes at their schools, but this year was different. Our relationship with UNITE parents has grown stronger, with those who work for NGOs collaborating with us. Our partner schools have also benefitted from our relationship with NGOs that have run sessions at our schools." Read UNITE's full impact report here
