Happy St. Patrick's Day, everyone! 🍀 Today is not just about wearing green or hunting for four-leaf clovers. It's a day steeped in history, celebrating St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, known for bringing Christianity to the island and reportedly using the shamrock to explain the Holy Trinity. But how can we channel the spirit of St. Patrick's Day into property and community management? Easy! Here are a few tips: 🌿 Go Green: Not just with your outfit! Implement eco-friendly practices in your community. Think recycling programs, energy-efficient lighting, and encouraging bike-to-work days. 🎉 Community Engagement: Organize events that bring people together, much like the communal celebrations of St. Patrick's Day. A community potluck or a green-themed party can do wonders for neighborly bonds. 🌍 Inclusivity Matters: St. Patrick's Day is celebrated worldwide, em we bracing people of all backgrounds. Ensure your community feels welcome and valued, regardless of their origin. 📚 Educate and Share: Use your community bulletin or social media to share fun facts about St. Patrick's Day, spreading knowledge and joy. Let's take inspiration from this day to not only wear green but also to think green and act in ways that foster a strong, inclusive, and joyful community. May the luck of the Irish be with you today and always! 🍀🏡🌟 #RESCONGreen #StPatricksDay #CommunityManagement #GoGreen #Inclusivity #Sustainability #PropertyManagement #CelebrateCommunity

We are pleased to announce #OpenRivers Issue 25 | Rivers & Borders featuring work from Tim Hannigan, Vanessa Lamb, Daphne Giannoulatou, Michael Johnston, Ph.D., stefan lovgren, Zali Fung, and more! "The articles in this issue grapple with the complexity of rivers and borders in myriad ways. They draw attention to the harm these borders perpetuate, but also to the threads of connection they enable. The articles speak of historic conceptions, contemporary conditions, and future imaginings. They push for social awareness, reconfiguration of policy, and transformative engagements with place." https://openrivers.umn.edu #RiverTamar #RioGrande #amistadreservoir #bucksportsc #salween #mekongriver #severnriver #floatzilla #tugofwarfestival #quadcities #riversandborders #desertandwater #thegreatdisplacement

The National Park Foundation is excited to invest $2.2 million in grants to affinity groups to build lifelong relationships with national parks. Everyone should be able to fully experience the benefits of the outdoors. The 62 projects selected for funding this year span 59 parks and focus on representation, accessibility, and interpretation – all things that leaders in outdoor recreation and equity spaces identify as barriers for communities that have been historically excluded from parks. https://lnkd.in/eQceMF-E

Interesting! The Great Saunter event, a 32-mile grand loop walk around the edges Manhattan. Increasingly, with the completion of pathways encircling the island, this kind of trek can become more broadly enabled. (In her piece, "Great Saunter Tips from Decades of Walking Around Manhattan" Sarah Milstein mentions that more segments of established pathways around the edges are falling into place.) Terrific to see the proliferation of these kinds of events, and, in the process, communities building this kind of walking green infrastructure! https://lnkd.in/gpE-C9F5

BREAKING NEWS: City of St. Petersburg, Florida ranks No. 1 in Florida and No. 11 in the nation for park systems by the Trust for Public Land (TPL) in this year’s ParkScore® index, which analyzed 100 of the largest U.S. cities to determine how well each city is meeting the needs for parks. According to TPL, 78% of St. Pete residents are within a 10-minute walk of a park. St. Pete is no stranger to being in the top 15; however, the City continues to climb in the ranking as it aims to create an inclusive and equitably accessible parks and recreation system. https://lnkd.in/eTYiTVma
