“You are changing the world” a lawyer said to the Ethereum Foundation co-founders and the core team soon after. Now looking back, after 10 years, we can see that indeed it is changing the world by making it more decentralized and adding a layer of data and asset privacy. Yesterday night was packed, people taking pictures of slides and pictures on the screen, chatting about their experiences and sharing their outlooks about the next 10 years. The crowd was also so diverse in terms of nationalities, age, gender, background and experience, also people from Solana Foundation ecosystem and, for example, Tezos was mentioned. Ethereum Foundation could have been registered in Canada or Singapore, but they chose Switzerland. Switzerland’s direct democracy echoes Web3 ethos and values. Mihai Alisie, Ethereum co-founder, shared how Swiss democratic values shaped Web3 industry. Also reminded us that the next 10 years will be focused around integrating democratic values into our technological progress. As Dr Jemma Green, co-founder of Powerledger, mentioned, the tech will move to the backend or will be under the hood, and users will enjoy seamless user experience often not knowing they use or interact with Web3. Thank you Ralf Glabischnig, Dennis A. Platzl, and the Inacta Ventures team for wonderful event organization. It will go down in the history books that Zug was the place where Ethereum was registered or “born” paving the way for many more foundations to be established and for new business models to be tested and launched. July has been a busy month for buidly. Here’s a rundown of what we’ve been up to. 1. OneDex Performance Boost We focused on improving OneDex, the community #DEX on MultiversX. After some serious upgrades, it’s now up to 40 times faster. Swaps, staking, farms, pools, and the dashboard are all running much more smoothly. 2. Trying Out #SuiNetwork We tried something new by building our first demo dApp on Sui Network. The whole process was different from what we’re used to with Rust and Solidity. Our post about this experience got 57k views, and we appreciate everyone who checked it out. 3. OneFinityChain Testnet Event Our first Testnet event with OneFinityChain showed it’s a top performer among EVM chains. Next month, you’ll be able to deploy EVM applications that interact directly with WASM Smart Contracts. 4. BurnifyApp Turns One BurnifyApp hit its one-year mark. Over the past year, we’ve seen a lot of tokens and NFTs burned, rewarded our community, and listed many new collections. 5. PvP Launch on MateriaPrimaRPG We rolled out the PvP system on MateriaPrimaRPG, now available on xPortal. You can battle 1vs1, climb the leaderboards, earn XP and Arena Points, and win rewards. 6. #Solana Romanian Developer Program We took part in the first-ever Solana Romanian Developer Program. It was a great chance to collaborate and learn with other developers. 7. Networking at EthCC Our team attended EthCC, where we met amazing developers, expanded our network, and shared ideas. It was a valuable opportunity to connect with others in the web3 space. That’s a wrap for July.

Just wrapped up an incredible experience at #ethdenver2024! I want to start by saying how amazing it was that this entire journey—from the Build Camp to the events, and even the food most days—was completely free. I dove into the full-stack track at Camp Buidl, led by the Chainlink team, which offered a series of workshops and training sessions. Here’s a brief overview of the technologies we explored: - Hardhat & Foundry: Key tools for smart contract development and testing. - Wagmi & ScaffoldETH: Web3 integration and dApp scaffolding. - React & Next.js: For crafting responsive and interactive user interfaces. - Solidity & OpenZeppelin: The backbone of writing secure smart contracts. - The Graph: For efficient blockchain data querying. - Rainbow Wallet & MetaMask: Simplified wallet integration and transactions. - Remix: A go-to for quick smart contract prototyping. - Decentralized Oracle Solutions: Including CCIP, Functions, VRF, and Data Feeds for real-world data integration. The opportunity to meet and network with incredible people was a highlight of the event. A special shoutout to my first hackathon team—Juvenal Campos, Timothy Sukamtoh, Michael Schück, and James Shaw. Despite forming later in the week, our collaboration and the progress we made were outstanding. This experience not only boosted my confidence in the Web3 space but also fueled my passion for blockchain development. I’m grateful for ETH Denver's initiative and the Chainlink team's guidance throughout this adventure. MakerDAO is approaching the 5th and final stage of Endgame, a long-term proposal to improve the governance and tokenomics of Maker and to create an ecosystem that is self-sustainable and resilient. This final stage includes building Maker natively on a stand-alone chain, codenamed NewChain. As such, the community must begin to explore the different options of launching a native blockchain for Maker. The protocol's co-founder and CEO Rune Christensen recently advocated launching NewChain on a Solana-based platform. His reasoning for Solana centers around the technical quality of the Solana codebase, the ecosystem's resilience after the FTX collapse, and some of the successful examples of the codebase being forked and adapted to act as an appchain (e.g. Pyth). Yet this approach is effectively an all-in bet on an ecosystem that in fact has not been resilient to the FTX fallout. Solana's entire TVL currently sits at just $307M, down 97% from its height in late 2021 and down 70% prior to the FTX collapse in November 2022. Meanwhile Ethereum TVL is nearly $22B, down 27% pre-FTX, but still more than 70x the size of Solana's TVL. Moreover, Coinbase's L2 Base launched less than one month again and already has over $408M TVL on the network (33% more than Solana). While TVL isn't everything, it functions as a source of liquidity and signals where users, and consequently serious builders, are operating. And while the technical potential is there, much of Solana's current advantages, particularly around throughput, will be natively abstracted away over time as Ethereum roadmap unfolds (e.g. proto-danksharding), modular applications like EigenLayer and Celestia continue to build, not to mention as the abundance of L2 networks mature (e.g. Arbitrum, Optimism, Starkware, Linea, zkSync, etc.). Other advantages of Solana such as its use of the Rust programming language, which enables new developers to onboard much more quickly and efficiently than traditional EVM languages, will also go to the wayside. For instance, Arbitrum's Stylus SDK includes WASM standard languages such as Rust, C, and C++. Expect other networks to adopt similar methods to mitigate developer frictions. Finally, serious competition is on the way. New protocols like M^ZERO are building the money layer that will usher in institutions at scale. Other projects such as Reflexer Finance, which enables users to mint stablecoins using only Ethereum as collateral and do not target any specific peg like the dollar pegged-DAI, quickly realized a surge in interest (their native token jumped 200% after this proposal was announced). While competition is generally a good thing, arbitrarily giving away marketshare is not. Tread carefully.
