I receive tons of LinkedIn connection requests and cold reach outs daily. This is what gets my attention and what has helped me connect with people I don’t personally know on LinkedIn. Sending a personalized connection request doesn’t have to be complicated or scary. Steal my formula to help get noticed on the platform! 🔹 Introduce yourself and ask a quick question. Hi X - I’m currently a critical care nurse interested in learning more about your role in X at X. Are you happy you moved from bedside to X? Thanks! 🔹 If you have something in common, it’s a great opener. “I saw you used to work at X hospital, that’s where I started as a new grad!” 🔹 Or If you have a close mutual connection. “It looks like we’re both connected with X, she was my new grad preceptor!” Keep it short and simple. Don’t ask a potential connection to put in a ton of effort if they don’t know you. Ask a quick simple question to get the conversation rolling and see what happens from there. ✨

Love this idea! I have long been passionate about bringing the benefits of healthcare careers to students earlier than college. Many students are uncertain about career paths and end up lost in the college system. We could help that uncertainty and effectively guide students by supporting programs like below. #HealthcareCareers #StudentGuidance

Before pharmacy, I spent 4 years in tech support. I was part of a team at my university to help students with their devices. It was a fantastic gig where I learned a valuable lessons and made great friends that I have to this day. The best part wasn’t: Learning how to take apart computers. Or putting them back together again. Goofing off waiting for virus scans. Pranking each other’s terminals. Racking up overtime in the fall. Sleeping under our desks. Chugging energy drinks. Arguing about music. Living on fast food. The best part was being able to solve problems for others. Slow laptops restored. Broken screens replaced. Forgotten passwords cracked. Deleted term papers recovered. We were wizards to many. But there was nothing better than solving problems. To serve others is the highest calling. And the roadmap is the same for any situation. Diagnose the problem. Treat the underlying cause. Educate to avoid the same issue. I follow the same steps when I help patients in the pharmacy or clients with their money. And it’s just as much fun today as it was back then. With way fewer energy drinks. ————————————————————————— 👋 Hi! I’m Mike, a pharmacist with a passion for financial wellness. ❗️Get Your First Medical Coder Position 🥇 On the Round-Up last week, I shared how I would apply both online and offline strategies to get my own entry level coding position. I need to start shouting these two facts: 1. Only 30% of jobs are posted online (Forbes). 2. Networking will not only get you jobs not posted, but give you a chance for the employer to learn about who you are. After not getting an opportunity to work as an entry level recruiter for 3.5 years, I found networking as the best and more effective strategy to getting hired. If you master this, you will no longer have to apply to jobs online, rather numerous job opportunities will be offered to you. To watch the full clip with a few more details how to network effectively, check out the link in comments👇 Be Renown, Mr.B #revenuecycle #healthinformation #medicalcoding #networking

If you know of anyone looking for a good full time job let me know. We have a spot in the lab that we are trying to fill. Pay is decent, but the benefits are awesome. $35k/year Full medical and dental paid by the school. Pension. 6 weeks of paid time off for school/federal holidays. 12 days of paid vacation. 12 days of paid sick time. Monday through Friday hours. Personally, I think a stage manager kind of personality would be awesome. Organized, creative, able to be responsible for setting up a given scenario. Throw in a little geekiness to deal with the tech and they are set. Medical background doesn't matter. My medical background amounts to watching "House, MD" and I'm fine. (As Rhiannon says, "we teach the medical stuff to students, so we can teach the new person.") I do 8k-10k steps per day on average, and some days I do 15k steps so it's an active job. I think of it like setting up 2-3 one act "shows" each week. Nothing crazy. And we're super chill 😁 The job listing/description isn't the best so let me know if there are any questions to answer. Employment as a New CPC-A Frustration can build for a newly credentialed coder especially if they have submitted many resumes and job applications and never receive any feedback as to why they were not selected for an interview or hired when they do receive an opportunity to interview. To be successful in getting interviews and ultimately a job a coder may need to do more prep to enter the job market as a newly credentialed coder. The medical coding field is no different than any other field of employment when a potential employee is new with no experience. A coder needs to find an employer willing to take a chance on them so they may need to know what they can do to give themselves the best advantage to get hired. https://lnkd.in/gSQgFecq
