We should ... if the application demands the need for haptics. The only problem is that there's NOT ONE PRODUCT ON THE MARKET currently ... or in the foreseeable future that is fit for purpose. Consider a Mixed Reality solution instead, where real, physical objects are introduced within virtual contexts to deliver the best force and tactile sensations, allowing users to see their own hands and limbs together with the objects they wish to interact with. Actual tactile experiences rather than inaccurate, poorly mimicked ones.

When I started this Journey, If you'd have told me that I'd be walking around in a level I built from scratch in VR, I'd have thought it impossible. I just had the Idea I wonder if I could walk around in VR on the levels I've built, 1 or 2 plugins later and hey presto. I had to capture this at low level quality because I was already starting to Cook my GPU. (This level was not optimized for VR at all. ) This is my Meta Quest 3 headset and the PC is running the VR. If I had to optimize this I'd have to sacrifice the foliage and I'd go back to the original water material because the plugins really eat up GPU. #unrealengine5 #gamedesign #virtualreality #metaquest3
