Their commitment to a CLUB mentality. They’re just two examples of when managers not only made a team but transformed a CLUB. How? Because they identified the following: 1) That the club has longevity compared to a team 2) Opportunities to build a fundamental foundation The fact is, they made the entirety of the badge a priority, not just the first team. That’s how you create a great club, and the best team(s).

It's always great attending a Mews event, especially when we're sharing the stage with industry leaders SHR Group, SiteMinder and Duetto . 🚀 What was my key takeaway from the event? 💡 As a tech enthusiast, I was keen to hear Frank Reeves's insights on how AI can boost a hotel's bottom line. Allora.ai have been using AI in their booking engine since 2016, so Frank is quite the expert on the subject. I was pleasantly surprised by his response... "Using AI will not directly add to your bottom line. To truly elevate guest experiences and boost profits, the key lies in working with innovative tech companies that integrate AI into their services. Thats the secret to success." I couldn't agree more! Every company on that stage is harnessing the power of AI to help hoteliers thrive. Excited to share insights from our recent Athennian CX Summit! 🚀 Last week, our Customer Experience team gathered in Florida, with some joining in-person and others virtually, from around 11 locations across North America. Here are some key takeaways: 🎯 Aligned Priorities: We had a task to pinpoint the most pressing challenge facing our department and propose solutions. Surprisingly, without any prior communication between different teams, we all independently identified the same challenge during our presentation time. This synchronized alignment allowed us to hit the ground running, and we immediately jumped into solutions. Had this been conducted virtually, the process could have stretched over a couple of months as we navigated the complexities of aligning the perspectives of more than 20 individuals. 👥 In-Person Collaboration: While I appreciate the conveniences that new technologies offer for virtual connections, nothing quite compares to the experience of building relationships in person. The summit provided an amazing opportunity to connect with colleagues face-to-face, meet new faces and engage in real, meaningful conversations. We showed how easy it is to fix a problem when multiple people jump to help, bringing diverse perspectives. But also, meeting someone in person allows you to connect on a personal level, not just as colleagues, but as friends too. 🤝 💼 Employee Experience (EX): Early this year for the first time I heard about the official correlation between CX & EX and how valuable it is. Understanding how the satisfaction and engagement of our employees directly influence the experiences of our customers has fundamentally shifted my perspective. It shows how important it is the prioritization of EX initiatives alongside CX efforts, recognizing that a positive employee experience lays the foundation for exceptional customer experiences. Excited to see what comes of this partnership being it’s beyond a vanity collaboration. I’ve been an avid fan of the blend between an athletic performance and team mindset into the business dynamic and this is a perfect case. There’s so much companies can learn from high performing athletes and teams such as how to bounce back after a bad quarter, how to shift your assets around to perform at your best, and how to create a drive for performance beyond a paycheck. Kudos to Delta too for sharing their “onboarding plan” for him, before he goes and coaches the team on how to perform better, create winning strategies etc… shadow the operations, immerse in the existing culture.. increasing credibility when he can speak the Delta lingo! #performancemindset #teamwork #businesspsychology

How should you show up at an association event or conference? I had the privilege of attending the LeadingAge California BOLD Age Annual Conference this week. Jeannee Parker Martin, Kevin Tuuaga, Soua Vang, and so many others orchestrated a remarkable environment that fostered learning, growth, and most importantly, a sense of community among industry professionals. As a sales professional, I've often pondered about the best way to approach these events. What are my priorities? What do I hope to gain? What can I contribute? These questions have led me to some valuable insights over the years. Let me offer three suggestions . . . 1) Focus on making friends. Over the course of the 10 years that I have attended this conference, I've made lifelong friends. Individuals who would share a meal with me, visit me in the hospital if I was sick, and join me in celebrating some of the significant accomplishments of my life. This is the real value of these conferences—the friendships you develop over the years. 2) Make a contribution. Mary Muñoz from Ziegler received the Award of Honor because of her contribution to the association and its members over her long and distinguished career. I was inspired by how she “led to” and worked with the members side by side to elevate the experience of older adults. Yes, she sold her service and earned some business along the way, but not because of her slick one-minute pitch, but because she used her gifts, skills, and abilities to make a contribution to the members of the association. 3) Offer encouragement. Instead of leading with what you do, commend others for their work, their contribution to the industry, and their impact on others' lives. Most people don’t hear those things often enough (thank you, Tiffany Karlin) Play the long game. Invest. Help. Encourage. Support. And then, I think you'll find that good business, the right business, comes as a result.
