Most people know that Disney Parks have strict dress codes, which forbid visitors from wearing Disney costumes. They don't want costumed guests to get confused for character actors, which might ruin someone's Disney Parks experience. However, both official and unofficial Disney dress-up days allow park guests to wear costumes or themed Disneybound outfits. It's easy to find official dress-up days because they're on the events calendar, but what about the unofficial theme days at Disney Parks? We'll share a list of unofficial dress-up days at Disney so you can participate in the fun, too! https://lnkd.in/ghnfQWVJ #disneybound #dressup #dressupdays

Tips for Choosing a Halloween Costume (That won’t get you canceled) Happy Halloween! When you're thinking about what to wear for the occasion, take our advice so you can make sure you're choosing a costume that will allow you to return to work with pride the next day. Avoid Cultural Appropriation: If it’s someone’s heritage and not your own, it’s best to avoid wearing it. Costumes based on Native American attire, or other cultural clothing can cross the line. Say No to Stereotypes: Costumes that depict groups, identities, or abilities in a limiting or exaggerated way aren’t funny—they’re harmful and can reinforce stigma. Steer Clear of Skin Color Alterations: Changing your skin tone for a costume is never appropriate. Honor characters without altering skin color or features. Have any other tips to add? Costume Trends 2024 - Sustainability over short term fads Are you wondering about what costumes are trending this Halloween? I’ve recently been asked this question, and I must admit that as an artisan maker I don’t really look at yearly trends. There are the usual big hit film productions (Willy Wonka, Minions, Dune, Acolyte, Inside Out, etc, etc) that capture the kids’ imagination as well as some social media fads parents and children will get excited about. But since my customers and I like our costumes to last longer than one season, I am looking at some longer-term trends. And there are some good news. 🎃 **Halloween 2024: The Year of "What Were They Thinking?" Costumes** 🎃 This Halloween, if you thought you've seen it all, think again, because 2024 has brought us costumes that are so out there, they might just be from another dimension. Here's a rundown of the costumes that had everyone doing a double-take: - **Shrunken Head Bob** - Yes, you read that right. Forget about being a full-sized character; someone decided to go as a literal shrunken head. Imagine walking around with just your head visible, asking for candy. It's both terrifying and hilarious in equal measure. - **Garbage Man Trump** - In a year where political satire met fashion, someone turned Donald Trump into a garbage man. Complete with a "Make America Clean Again" slogan. If you want to be both relevant and revolting, this is your go-to. - **Lady Deadpool and Friends** - Because why choose one superhero when you can mash them all up? Lady Deadpool, mixed with a dash of Beetlejuice, a sprinkle of Wolverine, and for some reason, Sabrina Carpenter's style. It's the costume equivalent of "throw everything at the wall and see what sticks." - **Napoleon Dynamite** - Making a comeback, not because it's spooky, but because it's so awkward it's funny. "Vote for me, I'm Napoleon Dynamite." This year, the lunar lander might just be the most terrifying thing on your block. - **The Scent-sational Costume** - Someone decided to go as a walking olfactory experience. Imagine a costume that not only looks like it smells but actually does. Think garbage, old gym socks, or perhaps, a skunk. Because if you're going to be seen, you might as well be smelled. - **Tech Support Skeleton** - Dressed in a skeleton costume, but with a twist - it's also wearing a "404 Error" t-shirt. For those who want to blend the thin line between life, death, and tech frustration. - **The "I'm Too Lazy" Costume** - Literally, a person wearing a sign that says, "I'm too lazy for a costume." Because sometimes, the most terrifying thing is the effort required for a costume. - **Pumpkin on Strike** - In solidarity with the pumpkin shortage, some went as pumpkins... but with signs saying, "On Strike for Better Treatment." It's political, it's agricultural, and it's hilarious. This Halloween, if you're not turning heads or making people laugh, you're not doing it right. From the politically incorrect to the downright bizarre, 2024's costumes are proof that when it comes to Halloween, creativity knows no bounds, and sometimes, it's just downright funny. Stay spooky, stay hilarious, and remember, the best costume is the one that gets you the most candy... or the most laughs! 🎃😂
