I like wine. Far from an expert. Know what I like and what my wife likes. However, have learned from folks who are knowledgeable that some wines need to breathe. The wine changes and evolves as it opens up. The second glass is different from the first glass. Interesting analogy to what we do here at The Mullings Group. When we partner with companies, the executives normally feel they have a good grasp of what type of person they want and need to hire. And then... After the first few people are interviewed, the opportunity opens up. Meeting talented individuals in the first round of conversations usually prompts questions and changes in impression of what would be the ideal hire. The role begins to evolve. It breathes. There becomes a clarity and allows for insight that would never have surfaced without time. Takes on a nuance that was not noticeable prior. Start to detect hints of personality traits and skills that would enhance the entire experience. Always wondered what it would be like to be a sommelier. To have that much knowledge and be able to use it to help people enjoy their time together. Did not think it was possible, but love what we do here a bit more than usual. Enjoy your weekend. See if the second glass is different than the first... #medtech #careers #hiring #wine

🍸 From Crafting Cocktails to Chasing Goals: My Journey from Fine Dining to Tech Sales Reflecting on my time at Jacobs & Co Steakhouse, where I continued to hone my hospitality skills, and my current role at Docebo, where I'm on a quest to become an Account Executive, I like to think about how my skills can be transferred. Fine Dining, Fine-tuning Skills: Working at Jacobs has been a masterclass in precision, attention to detail, and impeccable service. Each night, I learned the art of anticipating needs, exceeding expectations, and turning patrons into loyal enthusiasts. Spotting Opportunities, Seizing Success: In my current role at Docebo, I bring the same commitment to excellence. Much like curating the perfect dining experience, I meticulously research Accounts and prospects, identify pain points, prioritize my time and craft my outreach strategy. Elevating Experiences, Driving Growth: Whether it's recommending the perfect wine pairing or advocating for innovative e-learning solutions, the goal remains unchanged: delivering unforgettable experiences. Whether you're serving steak or software, the recipe for success remains constant: passion, perseverance, and a commitment to excellence. While I may not have reached my destination yet, I'm fueled by the journey and excited for the chapters ahead as I continue to blend my hospitality roots with my tech-driven ambitions. Anyone else making a career change from Hospitality? P.S. If you are ever in Toronto, come by and say hi! #bdr #future #ae #TechSales #CareerJourney #Hospitality #Sales Docebo

I often find myself considering the overlap between my personal and professional interests and passions, finding connections between activities and lessons learned that on the surface seem disparate. Just the other day I was connecting the dots between my interest in wine and strategic account management, which have some remarkable similarities when you dive in: - Both are incredibly approachable at a basic level. You don’t need to know much about wine to enjoy it, and on the surface strategic account management as a concept seems easy to understand. However, once you dig under the surface there’s an almost limitless amount of information you can learn to become an expert. - Every vineyard and winemaker offers something different to take advantage of the climate and terroir within a different region or viticultural area – producing wine that may be considered good for varying reasons. Likewise, no strategic account management approach is the same, every team will offer something distinct in the customer relationship. - Strategic account management requires an understanding of many elements: the customer’s objectives, goals, challenges, and what you include in the value proposition. Likewise, producing fantastic wine requires an appreciation of how the soil, aspect, altitude, and climate can affect the grapes, change the perfect time to pick and how you may begin to “make the magic” in the cellar. While I’m no master sommelier, I love the pursuit of knowledge when it comes to wine, and how the intricacies, notes and bouquet can be so nuanced. I’m lucky enough to also be able to feed my own inquisitiveness when it comes to my career – always able to learn more but also being able to help teams all over the world navigate the intricacies and nuances of strategic account management. Cheers and enjoy responsibly! ~My opinions are my own~ #pfecolleague #StrategicAccountManagement #KeyAccountManagement #KAM
