Sharing this for more reach in the greater Orlando area! Note to my network: Please apply! Make sure you research this opening, this company, this person and prepare your specific tailored resume for this opportunity. After applying - prepare for a phone and/or video interview. How? Search for and practice answering typical HR questions about communication, planning/organizing, team building, customer relationships, flexibility, leadership and technical ability. Practice mock interviews. Actually do the Q&A out loud even if by yourself. Video yourself answering questions to review and adjust. Yes, it's cringey! Get over yourself. :) Interviewers love to ask a question where you have to supply an example of a time where you didn't succeed (in some area). Answer truthfully, but make sure you report the silver lining of the cloud. What did you learn or how did you grow or what did you change as a result of this "failure". (Failing happens when you try and is inevitable. Everyone has failed. Learn to express any positive outcome from it, even if it is more awareness. You will be sharing vulnerability, which is also important to show your ability to and willingness to learn and grow.) Practice, but not so much that it becomes a rote answer or robotic. Use it to feel prepared and confident but realize there are always surprises. Be ready to adjust your answers on the fly. Learn about and utilize the STAR (Situation Task Action and Result) format of answering. It shouldn't just guide your interviewing preparation but also your style of resume. The *biggest* takeaway is to realize that it's all **about them**. If you focus on yourself, you will naturally be nervous. We all worry. If you focus on them (external), and what they need and how you can help them (provide value; exceed in that role) it's far easier to be passionate and engaging. If all you do is worry about how you look or sound or what you don't have or (blah blah) then you will never shift into thinking about what they need. Shifting that perspective and proving value/ideas or just passion (if you don't know anything) is MORE than most people do during an interview. Lots post require and desired. Even required may be negotiated if they believe that you can pour your all into a gaping need. Preparation alone provides growth! If you are invited to an interview, be professional/respectful but please be yourself. The more authentic you are, the more likely they will see if there's a fit and if not, you most likely wouldn't have been comfortable anyway. You can admit you are nervous. You can laugh and have genuine emotions in an interview. Make sure you also interview the company! There's usually time for your questions at the end. Have questions prepped in advance (from your earlier research) about the team, it's roadmap and/or professional development opps. Remember you are worth ensuring any new role is also a fit for you, and has growth potential! #entrylevel #cybersecurity

DVA is not associated with this job. Humbly Confident Security Lead https://lnkd.in/gUCWJNU9 We’re looking for a leader and doer in security, but that doesn’t mean you’ve held a specific title for a particular time. We expect you’ll be most successful in this role if you have at least five years of deep and rich experience in a SaaS environment (whether that be in security, engineering, or management). In this role, you’ll have three main responsibilities: Your primary focus will be cybersecurity—protecting our systems and data from digital attacks, theft, damage, and unauthorized access. This requires employing a wide range of techniques, technologies, processes, and practices to safeguard the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of our information and systems from a growing volume and sophistication of cyber threats. You’ll partner with Operations on compliance to ensure our security practices, policies, and procedures meet industry standards and regulatory requirements. You’ll take ownership of the relevant technical and security aspects and help with implementation efforts. You’ll also be responsible for customer protection, working to help users be more secure by evaluating and improving YNAB measures that allow customers to protect themselves. That’s a super brief intro to what you’ll be working on. But first, you need to know if you’ll even like working with us. Let’s talk a bit about life at YNAB, and then we’ll go into more detail about what we’re looking for. YNAB started in 2004 and we haven’t taken any outside funding—we’re established, profitable, and in this for the long haul. We have one overarching requirement when it comes to joining our team: our original Core Value Manifesto has to really click with you. If you’re nodding emphatically while reading it, you’ll probably really like it here, and we can’t wait to hear from you! #openposition #hiring #nowhiring #jobs #jobsearch #jobopening #employment #job #jobhunt #wearehiring #applynow #findwork #jobseeker #jobhunting #joblisting #sharethisjob #easyapply #career #wfh #joboffer #careers #newjob #joinourteam #recruitment #jobopenings #jobsearching #recruiting #hiringalert #cfbr #applytoday

Let's talk security... Information and cyber security are booming industries, right? Well, not exactly a walk in the park. With no clear-cut career ladder, it's been a bit of a musical chairs game out there. System engineers and network wizards are swooping into security roles, leaving a gap in the company's infrastructure and slim pickings for newcomers. So, what's the solution? Option A: Clearly map out a career path for security engineers. Option B: Embrace hiring entry-level security analysts. (legitimately entry-level, not 3+ years and a master's for a 40k job) This situation reminds me of standing in a long cashier line, only for a new one to open and everyone rushes over, leaving you with the same dilemma 😆 Any opinions? #Recruiting #Security #Cyber #InfoSecurity #Staffing #Hiring

I had a connection come into my inbox and tell me, “Your problem is your not doing Pentesting. You can make six figures and blah blah blah”. Plus he wanted to give me a pirated version of TCM Security’s PEH course. No absolutely not sorry. I don’t pirate stuff. I don’t think I’m going to join that bandwagon right now. I don’t believe it is in my best interests. Plus, the market is full of people trying to get into pentesting. Even more competition. I think it’s going to be awhile before I even think of going down that route. I’ll stick with where I feel my skills will be a strong suit. This is just my two cents. If I’m wrong, so be it. I’m sticking to the areas I’m strong in. Pentesting is not my strongest. Not that I can’t do it, I just don’t have enough experience to enter red team fully. Being honest here. I’ve studied Purple Team Methodology, I’ve studied Adversary Emulation, I’m studying bug bounty but I’m not strong in it yet. If you’re on Red Team, good for you! Keep at it! Me? I prefer the defense side, and I don’t see myself landing a job on Red Team right now.
