One of the greatest advantages of using precast concrete is its versatility. It can be used to build anything from a plain gray warehouse to the most intricate and ornate buildings. In the case of the panels below, they were designed for a parking deck. The panels have a rich red color with contrasting wheat color, and they were cast monolithically, which makes them incredibly strong and durable. The top portion of the panels has a bullnose design that makes it stand out from average parking decks. The result is a stunning parking deck with an impressive appearance.

A concrete grind and seal may be chosen for the sake of its industrial look. It has become a popular architectural design choice. Sometimes it’s chosen for the practicality of a floor that is bright, easy to clean, and mostly uniform. Sometimes it’s because it’s cheaper than other flooring products. Whatever the reason, it’s a simple and inexpensive way to beautify and protect concrete floors. The video documents a concrete floor that is covered by an old coating and has some surface damage. The process shown converts a tired warehouse floor to a uniform sealed surface. 🇺🇸💪🏼🇺🇸💪🏼🇺🇸 #ROTARYGRINDER #GRINDANDSEAL

Invi Air's Coastal Solutions - Lay-In For Wood. Many coastal homeowners prefer wooden ceilings and walls to avoid cracks on painted plaster surfaces caused by the salt air (wooden surfaces can be maintained with protective coatings). Invi Air’s unique installation technique of frameless air diffusers, which are installed completely behind the drywall, is the only architectural solution for wooden surfaces. Our Lay-In for Wood air diffuser model works great for a wood ceiling. The diffuser is rabbeted to sit in a matching pocket behind the wood plank to provide a sleek integrated look appearing to have just a slot in the wood ceiling. Cool. #Architecture #InteriorDesign

Depending on the surface, preparing for tiling takes a different approach from one application to the next. Here, tile is being installed on concrete slab floor in the elevator landings, where there was carpet previously. Tilers and designers work together to determine the height, the amount of mortar, how to level the new tile at the elevator tracks, the amount of slope, the style and finish of baseboard, and the transition from the new tile to the existing (or new) carpet. Here, our trade applies mortar to level and set the tiles perfectly. And of course those thin grout lines require the precision of an experienced tile setter! #WorkIt #Wednesday #CondoRefurb #FolioInteriors #TileInstallation

The Herringbone pattern is often confused with chevron, but herringbone is created by placing rectangles in a staggered zigzag pattern and is commonly found in tile work and parquet floors. For wood floors – like this beautiful example from GRAF Custom Hardwood – the wood is not cut at an angle, but in rectangles that are laid in a broken zigzag pattern. If you look closely, you can see that the pieces of flooring do not come to a sharp point, as a chevron pattern would. Learn more about the Herringbone pattern in wood floors and the hardwood options from GRAF that you can specify to create this gorgeous floor in your next commercial project! https://lnkd.in/ev28iUx9
