In discussing the future of surgery, I explored the transformative role of artificial intelligence within healthcare. During an appearance on IRIB, I introduced the Smart Surgeon Assistant, emphasizing its integration of dynamic augmented reality and AI technologies. On the program, I detailed how this product empowers neurosurgeons and spine surgeons by seamlessly combining analyzed fMRI, DTI, and tumor data with MRI imaging, facilitating precise surgical planning and process simulation. I also highlighted that the entire system operates without traditional inputs like a mouse or keyboard, relying solely on voice and gusture commands from the surgeon, enhancing both efficiency and ease in the operating room.

Excited to share that our paper, "To what extent can mastication functionality be restored following mandibular reconstruction surgery? A computer modeling approach," has just been published in 'Computer Methods and Programs in Biomedicine' and is available as open access. This study brings forward dynamic computer models simulating various types of mandibular defects and their rehabilitation. Dive into our research to explore how these models can influence clinical decision-making, offering insights into post-operative functionality of the jaw. We've utilized advanced biomechanical simulations to predict effective masticatory performance post-reconstruction, ultimately enhancing surgical outcomes for patients with mandibular defects. On your side for your sight --> Opthalmologist at IROC Zurich (CH) and Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich (GER)
And another big collaboration, thanks to the team: Langenbucher Achim, Michael Goggin, Nóra Szentmary, Alan Cayless, Peter Hoffmann Our latest research presents the Homburg-Adelaide nomogram for predicting (corneal) astigmatism power vectors after cataract surgery with toric lens implantation. Using the IOLMaster 700, we successfully mapped the three power vector components of preoperative keratometry (K) and total keratometry (TK) to the postoperative astigmatism. Our findings highlight that our predicted astigmatism vector correlates more closely with postoperative TK values than with preoperative measurements and enables better results when used in the calculation of a toric IOL. Key Highlights: Neural Networks & Multilinear Regression: Both prediction models showed strong performance in mapping preoperative measurements to postoperative outcomes. --> Clinical Implementation: The multilinear regression models, in particular, offer an easily implementable solution for clinical settings, facilitating precise toric lens power calculations. https://lnkd.in/eimEADDt #biometrybrothers #IOLcalculations #improvedresults #nospectaclesnocare #HomburgAdelaideNomogram
