PepsiCo is making waves with their Wild Cherry media placement in Las Vegas, and for good reason - it is one of the best uses of The Sphere that I've seen. They are treating the Sphere like an experiential asset that needs to be amplified, and it's paying off. While most companies are using the Sphere as glorified out of home, Pepsi is creating custom content with an influencer to leverage the unique media buy. The sphere alone costs $450k/day and can generate 4.7M impressions, but Pepsi layered on Zach King who has a whopping 136M followers across Tiktok, Instagram and Youtube - not to mention Pepsi is also leveraging their owned channels. He is cool and does not care what others think. Sprite picked him for a smart reason. Gen Z kids these days like people who are real. Who are not afraid to be themselves. Anthony Edwards is exactly that guy. He says what he thinks without any filters. He matches perfectly with "Obey Your Thirst." The real win for Sprite? Picking someone Gen Z kids can relate to. What is a 'good rep' MVP? 🤔 The YC GOATs struggle to define it succinctly. A bad rep feels easy to define (poor user targeting, product not good enough for own use, no real fundamental insight leading to random walk/ iterate to nowhere). If you can't whiteglove a single user into using the product it's clear something is amiss.
