I recently had the chance to watch Chasing the Sun 2 (https://lnkd.in/datsjpT6). For those of you not familiar with the story, its a 5-part series that follows the Springboks (South African Rugby Union (SA Rugby) in their journey to win their 4th Rugby World Cup Trophy. It's a story of leadership, resilience and strategy. It proves that despite the odds, South Africans can compete and beat the best in the World. South Africans have proved this in the sporting arena and are proving this across multiple spheres. It doesn't ignore the problems that South Africa faces but it shows that when we are united in our diversity, our country has limitless potential. It's a testament to hard work and perseverance. It's proof that when we believe in a cause that is greater than ourselves, we are unstoppable. It demonstrates that mental toughness is as important as physical ability. I'm obviously bias but it's one of the best sporting documentaries out there and I'm rooting for Jabavu Heshu and the Showmax / SuperSport team to make sure it goes global. Last year when we won the World Cup, it felt like a glimmer of hope during a very tough period for South Africa. In hindsight, it was a turning point 🚀 🇿🇦. #HulleWeetNieWatOnsWeetNie #PerformancePsychology #Resilience #MentalToughness #PositiveVisualization #Grit #SaladsDontWinScrums

A Call to action: We need to bring Palestinians back to the table of civilization. I've been thinking about Palestinian stories - not just the headlines we see every day about terrorism and gross political mismanagement, but the human stories, real stories of real people afflicted by the horrors we watch on our screens. I kept thinking about how we can change the narrative, how we can show the world the Palestinians I've come to know - a people and a place of rich culture, deep pain, incredible resilience, and above all, their humanity in all its beautiful complexity. You see, I believe that when we ignore people's histories, we lose everything that makes us human. We pour billions into entertainment and tell countless other stories. Why should Palestinian narratives deserve any less? In my search to use what I know, my craft and yours, to try to make a difference, I found this amazing novel, ‘Time of White Horses’, by Ibrahim Nasrallah. It's an epic tragicomedy that follows Palestinian life through three generations, up to 1948. Reading it hit me hard - it’s a beautiful lyrical narrative, very poetic and touching. It’s also very popular in and is its 20th re-printing. Historia Pictures is a non-profit in Canada that I've set up. No hidden agendas, I've removed any profit from the equation entirely. Just a dedication to getting this stories out there. I get it. I know many Arab networks and streaming platforms shy away from Palestinian content. The fear is there and it’s deep - I see it. I don’t understand it. But if not now, then when? When will we find the courage to move past this self-imposed silence? To every media executive reading this: I'm asking you to take a moment and think about the power you hold. Your platforms can reshape how millions of people understand each other. This isn't just another content opportunity - it's a chance to be part of something meaningful. We need to bring Palestinians back to the table of civilization. Not as statistics or headlines, but as neighbours, as human beings with stories worth telling. Their experiences, their laughter, their tears and fears - all of it matters. This isn't about politics. It's about preserving human dignity. It's about ensuring that when our grandchildren look back, they'll see that we chose to tell the whole story, not hide away with unsubstantiated fear. I've attached a teaser and a pitch deck that'll give you a better idea of what we're trying to achieve. Take a look. If something in you stirs, if you feel even a fraction of what I feel about this, let's talk. Because at the end of the day, this is bigger than all of us. It's about leaving behind a legacy of understanding, of bridging divides, of showing that even in our most challenging moments, we chose to see each other's humanity. Here is short form: A Call to Action We need to bring Palestinians back to the table of civilization—not as headlines or statistics, but as human beings with rich stories worth telling. If you're wondering how often to take a break at work, know that even 1-minute breaks can make a difference. Some standard intervals are a 5-minute break every 25 minutes or a 15-minute break every 90 minutes. At the top of every hour, try taking a moment for mindfulness. Walk around for a bit—it's good for you.
