Happy New Year to mu fellow Community Professionals, I hope you are doing well. Obviously my stroke was a major change for me last year, but I'm doing really really well. At this point I don't know if I will start up the Cmgr Live streams in 2024, but I'm not ready to close that door completely. That said, ... I am considering doing a free, bi-weekly, meeting that isn't Streamed (but will be recorded and saved for those that register, which will include transcripts, notes and anything shared.), but more of a collaborative working out loud kind of thing that I'm calling "Community Confab" (https://confabb.ing Coming Soon). It would include anyone from newbie to veteran. This comes from me being on the brink of launching a new Community Advocacy program and I would love the chance to bounce ideas, challenges, se-backs and successes off others who understand what we do. There would be a mid-week (4pm ET) 1 hour to 1.5 hour meeting every two weeks where Community Pros could come together and talk about what they are working on and seek help, guidance, ideas and share challenges and successes. With an agenda like this... 1. An opening Icebreaker 2. Resource sharing - Share useful tools, software, or resources you have discovered that can benefit the entire group. This can range from productivity apps to analytics platforms to content creation tools. Industry trends and updates - Discuss relevant industry trends, emerging technologies, or any other updates that may impact community management strategies. 3. Challenges and roadblocks + Problem-solving - Discuss the challenges you are currently facing in managing your communities. We will select one or two specific challenges and facilitate a group discussion to brainstorm potential solutions. 4. Lessons Learned - Reflect on recent failures or setbacks you have encountered and discuss valuable lessons. 5. Success Stories - Share a recent success story or achievement from your work. 6. Open Floor - Ask questions, seek advice from your peers, or share any other topics or concerns you may have. We would also have a self nominated person (the "Confabulator") to help start off answering the sections as we move through them.
