Coaching high integrity leaders to harness their top strengths for Work Life Harmony and personal success! ✨

10 hours left until my poll from last Monday closes. Interesting isn’t it? I also posted the same poll in one of my women’s groups on WhatsApp and the result there was: 92% for All of the above, 8% for Equal opportunities for all. Compared to the results here on LinkedIn, 72% for All of the above, and 28% for Voice in Decision-making. My thoughts on these results are: • for an all-women group, (preaching to the choir), there’s an added emphasis for Equal opportunities for all. There are retired corporate and civil servants in this group and I have heard for years that there are indeed UNequal opportunities at work for women. Highlighting for MORE Equality, and I would say Equity too, was unsurprising to me. • for a mixed group in LinkedIn, hearing an emphasis for a greater Voice in Decision-making makes me think - is it a matter of courage, of boldness, of fear, that doesn’t allow us to have the voice we need for Decision-making? Or, is it still the issue of patriarchy? (Sensitive issue with my son who has a good argument for countering his sister’s stand against patriarchy. I love listening to both of them!) What are your thoughts on these results? Mine : still so much to be done for #womenempowerment !

Looks like we still have many improvements to look forward to. Though I voted for All of the above, I like to think Voice in decision-making is probably the easiest to knock off the list. Hanaa Wong Abdullah Perhaps you might also get a clearer picture if you remove the 4th option and people are forced to choose one of the three.

For as long as you have Baby Boomers and Gen X in your women's group, Hanaa Wong Abdullah, the results will continue to reflect the pain we went through in our careers. You must check out some of the posts from Madhu Kumar Gambhir and the ads that she attaches to these that reflect the need to educate one and all about women empowerment. LinkedIn has younger members in comparison - and they are living the changes paved by you and me, I reckon...

I’ll choose “Voice in decision-making”..one at a time way is more focus..as saying goes “you just need a hairline crack for the water to seep in.” Insightful poll Hanaa Wong Abdullah

Wow, Hanaa! Those poll results are eye-opening 🤔. It's like you're showing us a mirror of how different groups see empowerment.
