By train! 🚆 This is the first time we’re seeing an Olympics 100% accessible by public transport. Parisians were bracing for a transport nightmare, but eleven days in, there’s nothing but smooth sailing on the train and metro lines! 🙌 ▶ The journey started pretty grim 😅: On the first days of the Olympics, three TGV lines were sabotaged and RER service to the Stade de France was disrupted. However, France's and Paris' transport networks pulled off a spectacular recovery. Thanks to the preparation by RATP and SNCF, with tech teams on standby and rigorous rail checks, the system is now running smoothly. 🔧 ▶ Results? Better than expected! 🎉 95% on-time suburban trains and a perfect 100% for the line serving equestrian events in Versailles, even with 500,000 extra passengers. This is far beyond the usual summer traffic in Paris! 🚇 ▶ Sending a message to the world 📣: The American basketball team, led by LeBron James, traveling from London to Paris and Lille by train, is sending a powerful message: it is convenient and safe for international stars to take the train and travel more sustainably. If the US basketball team, with its international NBA players, can do it, why couldn’t the French football team do the same for their national tournament? 🏀 ▶ Can L.A. keep up with these standards? 🚌 Paris’s extensive network sets a high bar for future Games. Unfortunately, Los Angeles doesn’t have such an extensive metro, suburban, and bus network.
