I had the pleasure of sharing a little bit of my work at PUBLIC with Maria Allgaier at Orthus.AI (T3K.AI). We discussed the rise of deepfakes, both in the threat landscape and detection. Things we discussed: 🤖 What is a deepfake really? ❌ What are the major threats of deepfakes? 🎙 Are there any good uses for deepfakes? 💡 What solutions are out there? 📜 What is the role of legislation? 🤔 And to leave you with philosophical questions we discussed... Is media harmful simply because it is created using generative AI? Is it more important to detect whether media is created using generative AI or if it is harmful? We all know a 30-minute episode can only scratch the surface when the landscape changes so quickly!
