I think the biggest key to success is surrounding yourself with people who inspire you. Last night I was in a room full of people that inspire me every day to be better not only for myself, but for my clients. This past year with New York Life has developed my professionalism in ways I never imagined, and I can’t wait to see what my team and I accomplish in 2024. Four years 👌 This week marks my fourth anniversary at Knight Frank. It's a milestone marked by a series of seismic global, political, financial and environmental events. Events which are dramatically shaping the future of markets, business, clients, customers, early talent and those soon to enter the workforce. Scary? Possibly. Disruptive? Undoubtedly. Exciting? Definitely. 🤯 Reflecting on the complexity we face, I've been pondering a quote from Dale Carnegie which states: "There are only four ways we have contact with the world, and by which we are evaluated and classified. What we do. How we look. What we say. How we say it. To me this talks not just about the individual, but about the essence of brand. It's a clear and simple reminder to: Know what you stand for. Be consistent. Be clear. Be authentic. And the more we can do this, the more able we'll be to demonstrate our point of difference and build salience. 😎 Something to ponder as I move into my fifth year.

Never when we sat down for that coffee all those years ago did I think we would end up here. Very proud of all that we have achieved over the past two years, the incredible team we have and the wonderful group of clients we have built. Smartest, most genuine, hardworking bloke there is. Honour and privledge to learn and spend majority of most days with you! Could write a list as long as the Nile about what I’ve learnt from JB, here’s 5 points that first come to mind; 1. Listen, listen more, take notes, summarise in writing, engage any expert you can to upskill and better understand the problem, turn the world over to find the most powerful solution. 2. If you find yourself with a few spare minutes having finished a meeting early, driving or walking to lunch, spend this time calling your team members to check in, this will be invaluable to both you and them. 3. No matter how busy you are, always make the time to stay connected and engaged with your network, a quick text is all it takes. 4. Respect and celebrate the achievements of our peers, their success makes us better and drives us forward as an industry. The quote I love from JB most is, “there’s enough clients out there for everyone.” 5. Always remember, we aren’t saving lives. Your family and your health always come first. One of a kind JB. Unasked for advice for Creatives (especially those with less than 5 years of experience): when deciding whether to stay put or take a new job that doesn't include a huge bump in salary but will let you produce great work you can bank on later in your career, GO FOR THE WORK and the money will come. Go for the money and you might get trapped in a place where you'll never have the chance to do great work. #careeradvice #creatives #advertising #PR #communications

While preorders are critical, anytime a friend has a book come out I prefer to get it IN the store that day to: 1) ensure some launch day foot traffic to show demand 2) tell the staff they're either low on inventory or (in this case!) SOLD OUT and clearly need to reorder fast! 3) make the store aware of the title if they never stocked it Today was pub day for these 3 titles, all of which I now happily have in my apartment and can't wait to dig into: - Daisy Auger-Domínguez Burnt Out To Lit Up - Adriana Carrig The Power Of Little Words - Terry Szuplat Say It Well I'm lucky enough to be attending book talks for all three so posts about each will likely follow... And for now, highly recommend following each of these authors (and all around incredible humans!) as you'll see some of their posts about their books and more. And if like me you're hoping to write your own non-fiction masterpiece, one more related launch from today: Fran Hauser and Bethany Saltman, cohosts of the insightful BookBound podcast, launched their substack today.
