Celebrating 34 Years of the Americans with Disabilities Act! 🎉 Today marks the 34th anniversary of the ADA, a groundbreaking law that ensures people with disabilities have the same opportunities as everyone else. As a strong supporter of the ADA, I believe in helping people with disabilities achieve their chosen level of economic and social independence. According to the CDC, more than 1 in 4 adults in the USA have some type of disability. Many of these disabilities may not be visible, but each person brings valuable contributions to the workplace and our communities. A diverse workforce, inclusive of people with disabilities, brings unique experiences and opportunities for growth. The ADA prohibits discrimination based on disability in various areas of life, including employment, state and local government services, public transit, and businesses open to the public. It guarantees that people with disabilities can enjoy employment opportunities, purchase goods and services, and participate in state and local government programs, just like everyone else. Let's continue to advocate for a world where everyone, regardless of ability, has the opportunity to work, contribute, and thrive. Together, we can build inclusive workplaces and communities that recognize and celebrate the value of diversity. #ADA34 #Inclusion #Diversity #DisabilityRights #EqualOpportunity

Did you know that failing to make your PDFs accessible could land you in legal hot water? The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) demands that all digital content be accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. Non-compliance with accessibility standards can have significant consequences, both legally and reputationally: 1️⃣ Injunctions: Courts may issue orders forcing you to make your PDFs accessible. 2️⃣ Financial Damages: Legal penalties and compensation for affected users can be quite high. 3️⃣ DOJ Investigations: The Department of Justice could initiate investigations into your practices. 4️⃣ Reputational Harm: Non-compliance could damage your brand’s reputation and customer trust. 5️⃣ High Legal Costs: Defending against ADA lawsuits is costly, even if you win. Making your PDFs ADA-compliant isn’t just a legal obligation—it’s a way to foster inclusivity and avoid these risks. Dive deeper into the legal landscape of PDF accessibility in our full article: https://lnkd.in/epiVAjbN #ContinualEngine #PDF #PDFAccessibility #ADA #PREP #Compliance
