The Language of the Bagisu Lugisu (also known as Masaba) is the language of the Bagisu people and is part of the broader. It is rich in history and culture, with its main dialects being Lubuya, Lugisu, and Luwanale, reflecting the tribal and geographical divisions of the Bagisu clans. Despite these variations, the dialects remain mutually intelligible, showing the unity of the Bagisu people. Interestingly, the southern dialect of Lugisu shares some similarities with the language of the Vugusu people in Kenya. According to linguist “Guthrie”, Lugisu is closely related to the languages spoken in the north Nyanza area of Kenya and the Inter-Lacustrine Bantu languages. However, Lugisu stands out by lacking an initial vowel in most noun forms, a characteristic that differentiates it from other Bantu languages in the region. In modern times, “Luganda” has become a language widely spoken in Mbale especially in schools, while English and Swahili are also used widely. These languages have influenced Lugisu, with many words from them becoming integrated into everyday speech. Today, most Bagisu are bilingual, speaking both Lugisu and Luganda, while English is increasingly common among the educated. #tribe56 #heritage #culture #hildaontravel

Mabuhay!    Filipino is a standardized name of the language Tagalog that is spoken by the majority in Philippines. Which also makes this as their national language in 1937.   It is also a member of the Austronesian language and is the most relational language for its conjugations, making one single word have different meanings depending on a situation.  The direct translation of the word Tagalog is "from the river". It says that Tagalog appeared in written language way back 900 CE and is now widely spoken by millions of people around the world. Around 25 million people speak Filipino. Attention francophones: à quelle fréquence entendez-vous du verlan en public? Attention French speakers: how often do you hear Verlan in public? How is Verlan received in professional conversations? For those interested, Verlan is a French slang practice of reversing syllables in a word. For example, the syllables in the word "merci" are reversed and the word becomes "cimer". Métro becomes tromé. Soirée becomes réssoi. Français becomes céfran. Verlan is frequently used in casual conversation among young people in France. In most languages, young people tend to adapt and modify their speech to distinguish themselves from other generations. Similarly in English, Gen Z has created their own slang. Oxford University Press issues a word of the year just to keep up with changes to the English language. The Austronesian languages are a language family widely spoken throughout Maritime Southeast Asia, parts of Mainland Southeast Asia, Madagascar, the islands of the Pacific Ocean and Taiwan (by Taiwanese indigenous peoples). They are spoken by about 328 million people (4.4% of the world population). This makes it the fifth-largest language family by number of speakers. Major Austronesian languages (around 250–270 million in Indonesia alone in its own literary standard named "Indonesian"), Malay, Javanese, Sundanese, Tagalog (standardized as Filipino) Malagasy and Cebuano.
