In the Fearless Fund case, the US Supreme Court specifically targeted Black women, trying to outlaw our longstanding culture of bootstrapping for individual, community, and broader societal advancement. Even with only .3% of venture and 2% of philanthropic funding for equally qualified Black women social and private sector entrepreneurs, we’re expected to compliantly accept this centuries-old, implicitly unfair, racist-sexist, unequal funding status quo. But The WISE Fund and Black Philanthropy Month program are undeterred. It’s not the first time in US history that a predominantly racist-sexist US Supreme Court tried to deny us our basic human and Constitutional rights, upholding institutions and customs like chattel slavery, Jim Crow, women’s second class citizenship, and more at various points in its history until the people unified and stood together for justice. There is absolutely no force in The Universe that can stop Black women from pooling our spirits, time, talent, treasure, and voice, with those of supportive allies, of all backgrounds for the betterment of our community, broader humanity, and the planet we share! It’s what we do; it’s our culture, taught and passed down through the generations. *Join Me Tonight… Monthly Call For Black Women across the US* ———— Project 2025 is birthed from fear. Fear of what? Fear of the anticipated "power shifts" (economically, politically, socially) as the country becomes blacker and browner. The architects of Project 2025 assume that black and hispanic people are using our time now to "get in position" so that we can fully experience the benefits of being in majority and that, somehow, that positioning would bring them (presumably white people) peril. They have worked to devise a plan to assure a certain belief system prevails in our country. Thing is, what are we doing? Are we devising similar, far-reaching, well funded strategies? Are we assuring that the decisions we make, professionally and personally, align to the reality we are about to realize? Are we preparing now to make the decisions and establish the priorities to assure our political, economic and social advancement by 2045 so that when we are the majority among living adults in the US, that majority status actually has consequences that benefits us? Listen... What will happen between now and 2045 will never happen again...the opportunity to be in majority and leverage that majority to assure racial equity; an equity, I might add, that has nothing to do with suppressing or dominating white people. In recognition of Black History month, the WLA reiterates our values of empowerment, community, diversity and collaboration. The financial services industry is made stronger, more sustainable, and more innovative when a more diverse financial advising community is serving the needs of our diverse population. We also want to state unequivocably that progress has been too slow in our industry. We are optimistic when reading Deloitte's seventh edition of the "Missing Pieces" report in June 2023, showing the representation of women and underrepresented racial and ethnic groups on Fortune 500 company boards has reached a record high of 44.7%, up from 38% in 2020. However, progress remains uneven, with minority women holding only 7.8% of board seats. The report highlights that white men still dominate corporate boards with 55.3% of seats, while women of all races and ethnicities collectively hold 30%. Black women saw the largest increase in board seats at 47%. Despite improvements, the report suggests that it would take more than two decades for Fortune 500 boards to reflect the diversity of the overall population at their current pace. The study also notes that the stressors of the past few years, including increased social activism and the COVID-19 pandemic, may have prompted companies to reassess their procedures, leading to greater accountability and transparency in board appointments. We are inspired to continue our collaboration across the industry with advisors, partners, and advocates to pursue innovative and impactful programs to accelerate our collective efforts. Have you ever wondered how many black women are in NJ? Black women make up approximately 12% of the population in NJ. We are truly a minority. With only 21 counties in New Jersey, it's important that we unite to maximize our impact not just in our local communities but statewide, countrywide, worldwide. It's been said that when women unite nations RISE! This group was created to bring awareness to the amazing things Black Women are doing locally and in New Jersey. Our model is NO county left out! Our Goal is to: •Bring awareness to all the amazing things Black Women are doing Local and Statewide •We will create opportunities for women to advance and develop strategies that will increase theirs and others sphere of influence. •Highlight Black Women Making an impact in their lanes of influence. •Support and help Minority women in areas of need. •Create a platform that will bring awareness to challenges and barriers Black women face and provide authentic support and solutions. Find gaps in the state where there is a need for more minority resources for women and advocate for those needs. 

Happy International Womens Day 💐 Here are some achievements to celebrate today and to remind us how we have progressed as women in the labor force. Cheers to us and I wish you all continuous success. 🥂 The Nations first Women’s Day celebration was in New York City in 1909. By early 1980’s, cities and states across the county were marking the occasion and Congress passed a resolution designating March as Women’s History Month in 1987. Since 1946, the nation has had more females than males. Women made up to 50.05% of the total population in 2021! In 2022, 56.8% of women were in labor force. Women’s labor force participation increased throughout the 20th century, peaking at 60% in 1999. A record of 129 women are serving as House Representatives and Delegates in the 118th Congress. 25 women serving in the Senate. In total 154 women members serve in the 118th Congress. Virginia’s rep Jennifer McClellan was sworn in after winning a special election in the states fourth congressional district in 2023. She is the first black woman elected to Congress from Virginia.

Black women are the fastest-growing group of business owners in the U.S. Their vision, determination, and resilience are not just breaking barriers; they're shaping a more inclusive and innovative economy for future generations. ⁠ ⁠ August is Black Business Month, and supporting Black-owned businesses isn't just a "good" thing to do—it's essential. There are 2.1 million Black women-owned small businesses in the U.S., each contributing to a more equitable and diverse marketplace.⁠ ⁠ Let’s continue to uplift and celebrate Black women entrepreneurs, today and every day. 💪🏾⁠ ⁠ #BlackBusinessMonth #SupportBlackOwnedBusiness

How do you determine or measure an equitable organization? It'll be the organization that acommodates the needs of its most vulnerable employees and stakeholders. Imagine if the needs of Black women were centered? Think of how this practice would elevate everyone's experience and capacity.
