Hello everyone! In this video, the video shows you the rolling steps of ordinary band saw blades in the production process. The main function of rolling is to shape the steel strip. It can accurately adjust the thickness and flatness to meet the specific requirements of the bandsaw blade. We can also make the blade have a certain degree of curvature as needed. Make the bandsaw blade stronger and more durable for better cutting performance. Make the impossible possible: Sometimes Graebener® does that. For example with the #prebending press that we designed for Eisenbau Krämer GmbH (EBK). The specialist for the production of large steel pipes has chosen the innovative strength of Gräbener Maschinentechnik GmbH & Co. KG and ordered a machine from us for the production of thick-walled large-diameter pipes, e.g. from #clad materials. What we finally delivered was a 2-side pre-bending press that raises the bending process for plate thicknesses up to 75 mm to a completely new level. In contrast to the conventional roller bending machine, the Graebener® 2-side pre-bending press is designed for simultaneous bending of both longitudinal plate edges. In addition to time savings, material thinning as well as crushing edges and rolling out in the end area of the plates can be eliminated. At the time, this method was not new on the market. However, with such enormous wall thicknesses, it was not yet possible to prevent waviness over the entire length of the plate. The clou: ➡️ An optimized tool contour, ➡️ that makes plate waviness a matter of the past. The result: an open-seam #pipe ✅ with 100 percent shaping, ✅ with zero gap without edge offset ✅ and with perfect #weldseam preparation. Today at the Humanmade metal shop, I learned how to use a manual mill to modify a cutter shank for a fly cutter. A 4-flute high-speed steel (HSS) end mill with a 5/8-inch diameter was run at 200 RPM to remove 0.125 inches from the steel cutter shank. This adjustment prepares the cutter for use as a fly cutter on the mill.
