"A new paper documents that oil and gas drilling does far more damage to bird populations than wind turbines... Results show that the onset of shale oil and gas production reduces subsequent bird population counts by 15%, even after adjusting for location and year fixed effects, weather, counting effort, and anthropic land-use changes. Wind turbines do not have any measurable impact on bird counts." WIND TURBINES DO NOT HAVE ANY MEASURABLE IMPACT ON BIRD COUNTS https://lnkd.in/g4W49v5X

👎 Government hypocrisy takes center stage as Southern California Edison's two-year bid for heat pump funding is callously rejected by the Public Utilities Commission. This decision not only widens the gap between the affluent and the common Californian in the quest for electrification but also deals a significant blow to the ambitious goal of achieving 80% electrification of all buildings by 2035. The rejection further exposes a system that claims to prioritize the well-being of all citizens but, in reality, leaves them alone to grapple with the inevitable rise in costs to consumers and ratepayers resulting from the envisioned all-electric future. ➕ Read the full article: https://lnkd.in/gpZiwXTF -------------------------------------------------------------- #energy #california #gas #electric #fuel #fuels #caleg

The biggest disconnect between the state and industry groups in the energy space is the state's goal of 100% emission reductions versus the "not 100% but significant enough" emission reduction options that are currently available. Choosing to more widely deploy these options now such as: renewable diesel offering up to 80% emission reductions, hydrogen offering up to 89%, E85 offering up to 80% etc. means a cleaner energy future starting TODAY, rather than solely focusing on the goal of a fully electric infrastructure that has presented many obstacles. + Read the full article: https://lnkd.in/gP2aS8Kg ----------------------------------------------------- #fuel #fuels #conveniencestores #california #caleg #emissions #energy #sustainable

Simple, reliable and a hedge against damaged cables.
According to Global Underwater Hub around 85% of the total value of offshore wind insurance claims relate to subsea cables. There are numerous root causes, but poor installation is a big one. CableFish offers the industry a new way of doing business to help tackle this problem. Accurate and continuous monitoring of the cable touchdown point in all conditions is a great way to ensure the cable is laid in good order.

National Heating Installer of the year 2024 National HVAC Installer of the year 2024 North West Heating Installer Awards 2024 - Based in Carnforth, covering Lancashire & Cumbria 🚨
A question for all my connections: It is that time of year for our insurance renewal. We are delighted with our current broker, but they have been struggling with our professional indemnity. Out of 10 underwriters, only one will cover PV and batteries. Along with our usual other works Insurance companies are starting to respond to the skyrocketing number of claims for poorly designed and failed PV systems. We have to have it to give the client the extra comfort blanket, but we stand behind everything we do 100%. To be honest, I don't ever desire to make any claims. We do the job right! It's actually made me consider the value of PV in our business. We get such high feedback from happy clients on delivering complete renewable packages, including PV with heat pumps and other systems. What are everyone's thoughts on the current situation?
