Easy poems to chant, and poems ‘that require intelligence’ and ‘that will reconstruct the brain and make it one room larger’ (Corbett, 2008, p.90) are all part of offering students enjoyable poetry experiences. In your classroom, ask students to ‘Tell me’, then, in discussion, observe their comments on likes, dislikes, puzzles and patterns. 📖 For more: https://lnkd.in/gAqCqX24

Ms. Neub's thoughtful students created a digital media piece to say thank you for our time shared together. Thank you to Ms. Neub and her wonderful students for this beautiful thank you note. I feel incredibly lucky to witness students' poetry and creative process. You can try this quick writing prompt with your students: 1. Select an object/idea/concept that you would like to write a riddle about 2. Using any poetic device, describe the item (without being obvious) in a few sentences 3. Read the riddle to the class. Whoever can guess it correctly, gets a point. #poetry

My research and practice seek spaces where we can come together with an air of curiosity to explore our creativity and be more mindful in our everyday. NEW DATES - Thinking with Nature, Creative Writing and Poetry Let’s pause, listen to words, move and write together. Book your space below. There will also be a pay what you can option. https://lnkd.in/eNwmKgby These workshops aim to offer tools to support and inspire your own creative writing and poetry practice. During the workshops, I welcome you to collectively explore ways of conversing between our individual and collective bodies and that of the textual and filmic bodies The workshop spaces seek to move through non-hierarchical conversations and to the unexpected sociability of the unknown encounters ahead of us, to pose a speculative space to think with the temporalities of creative writing and poetry practice. To offer a meditative space to explore together. I offer online spaces to allow a wider accessibility. More information in the link above, or get in touch.
