"Why Steve Jobs Didn't Fix Problems (And What You Can Learn From It)" I still remember watching his 1992 MIT talk where he shared a crucial lesson on building a dream team. When problems arise, our instinct is to rush in and fix them. But Jobs' approach was different. He said "When I see something not being done right my first reaction isn't to go and fix it but it's to say we are building a team here and we are going to do great stuff for the next decade, so what do I need to do to help so that the person's that's screwing up learns versus how do I fix the problem" Think about it... How often do we solve problems only to have them resurface because we didn't address the root cause? It's like playing whack-a-mole. By focusing on helping our team members grow, we create a culture of learning, trust, and ownership. It's not just about fixing problems; it's about unlocking people's potential. So, the next time you're faced with a challenge, take a breath and ask yourself: "What can I do to help this person thrive?" Would love to hear your thoughts on team building and leadership! #teamwork #leadership #personalgrowth #stevejobs"

In today’s dynamic business environment, reorganizations happen more often than we might expect, and they can be challenging to navigate. But with the right questions, you can turn these transitions into opportunities for growth and clarity. Here are some thoughtful questions that have helped me (and others) gain clarity during times of change: 1. Understanding the Why – Asking about the goals and motivations behind the reorganization can help you understand the big picture and align your efforts. 2. Clarifying Roles & Responsibilities – Knowing how your role might evolve can help you adjust your focus and find new opportunities. 3. Assessing Team Impact – Understanding changes in team structure, leadership, and workflows allows for smoother transitions. 4. Performance and Success Metrics – Asking how success will be measured post-reorganization can help you adapt your priorities. 5. Communication & Transparency – Establishing clear communication channels and knowing where to go with questions can reduce uncertainty. Reorganizations can be challenging, but they’re also a chance to connect with new colleagues, contribute to shaping company culture, and grow in your role. By asking the right questions, we can approach these changes with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset. Are there any other questions you’d add to this list? Let’s keep learning from each other! #CareerDevelopment #GrowthMindset #ProfessionalTips #NavigatingChange #LinkedInTips #Reorganization #EmployeeSuccess

Imagine if you and your team had 100% awareness of the goal, but each of you had a completely different definition of what the goal actually is. Well the truth is, that’s all too often the case. And without knowing it, it’s costing you. Efficiency, productivity and performance all require strategic alignment. Strategic alignment means your team knows, understands and has internalized the company’s goals and priorities. It not only means they are equipped with the knowledge they need to move the needle, it empowers them to think more proactively, with less direction and with more enthusiasm. Is your team strategically aligned? - Ask 3 people on your team to articulate the organization’s goals. Do they say the same thing? - Ask your team to identify the company’s top goals. Can they remember them? - Ask your team to explain how their work, priorities and actions connect to the goals. Can they see the connection? Are the connections abstract or tangible? Having these kinds of conversations can help you discover areas of strategic misalignment, where silos may be limiting your team’s strategic mindset, and might uncover opportunities for your team to have a greater impact. What do YOU think? #strategicthinking #leadershipdevelopment #innovation #personaldevelopment #criticalthinking
