Are sustainable practices the future? We certainly believe so. At La Trama Srl, we embrace sustainable practices as a core value, advocating for its integration not only among the younger generations but also within established companies rooted in eras where profitability and capitalism often overshadowed broader social and environmental responsibilities. Fashion transcends mere clothing; it is the most powerful art form, blending movement, design, and architecture into every piece. From our inception, sustainability has been woven into our identity. But how? → Our showroom, adorned with decor made from recycled cardboard, embodies our commitment to eco-friendly practices without compromising on style. → Through innovative machinery, we minimize resource consumption and manage waste responsibly. For example, our hydrocarbon-based dry cleaning ensures garments are cleaned gently and sustainably, leaving a minimal environmental footprint. → Water used in our processes is sourced from a rainwater collection cistern, symbolizing our dedication to circular resource use. Sustainability isn't just a trend—it's a corporate social responsibility that should drive every decision we make. Join us in reimagining fashion as a force for positive change. Let's work for a future where style meets sustainability seamlessly. #FashionRevolution #SustainableFashion #LaTramaSrl #EthicalFashion #CircularEconomy #Innovation #Seamless

Did you know...? Genuine leather is considered to be a great sustainable material As sustainability becomes a priority in fashion and interiors, it's important to understand why genuine leather is also an eco-friendly option compared to synthetic alternatives( also known in the industry as -pleather). Biodegradability and Durability Genuine leather, a natural product, is fully biodegradable and decomposes within 50 years under natural conditions, unlike pleather which can take centuries. Leather's durability also means products last longer, reducing the need for frequent replacements and lessening resource use. Sustainable Production Leather production utilizes byproducts from the food industry, reducing waste. Advances in tanning, including the adoption of vegetable-based methods, have significantly minimized the environmental impact, making the process safer and more eco-friendly. Supporting Circular Economy Leather’s potential for reuse and recycling fits perfectly into the circular economy model, extending the lifecycle of resources and minimizing waste. Choosing Sustainability By opting for genuine leather, consumers contribute to a sustainable future. It's not just about choosing a product but making a conscious decision that supports environmental stewardship. Hello Eco Humans! Let's Get Creative with Upcycling! Upcycling is a powerful way to reduce waste by transforming old items into new treasures. Here are five ways to start: 1. Home Decor: Turn old jars and containers into stylish vases or storage. Wooden pallets can become rustic furniture or art, while you can revamp old clothing into quilts or reupholstered pieces. 2. Fashion: Repurpose old T-shirts into bags or new tops, and turn denim jeans into jackets or tote bags. Even broken jewelry can become chic new accessories. 3. Garden: Use old tires as colourful planters, broken pots for garden art, and wooden pallets for raised plant beds, enhancing functionality and style. 4. Education: Incorporate upcycling into classrooms to teach students about sustainability and creativity through hands-on projects. 5. Weekly Newsletter - Change from the Inside 📩 I recently had a stimulating conversation with Lexi Ciagne, an enthusiast and promoter of upcycling, and we discussed the levers for upcycled collections. Her platform #thatsnotrubbish features creators who “turn garbage into cool things.”✨ Following her motto, I want to quote Juliet Schor featured in “Welcome to the Circular Economy: The Next Step in Sustainable Living” by Claire Potter—a brilliant read: “It’s not that we are too materialistic - it’s that we’re not materialistic enough.” Claire adds “We should learn what makes up our stuff and how to be responsible custodians of the resources it contains”, because “there is so much value in waste.” Regarding upcycling designs, a key point is that using unused stock, production scraps, vintage pieces, etc., means the size of each production run is defined by the amount of fabric available. This often results in limited series, sometimes unique collections. It’s an amazing process but demands more creative work, tailoring each approach to the available fabric. Besides quantity, which allows a more industrialized process, one big part is sourcing these resources. Are there accessible deadstock management solutions?
