I don’t care whether you come into the office at 8 am. I don’t care if you choose to work from home or not. I don’t care if you work from the garage while they fix your car. I hired you for a job and I trust you to get it done. Just let me know what you need from me to be successful in your role. And I will show up for you. Life happens! You don’t need to justify to me why you need a day off. You don’t need to explain how sick your child is to leave early. You don’t need to apologize for having a personal life. Yes, I care about results but I also care about you. We are all human and we are all adults. I lead people. I don’t run an adult day care center. My advice for anyone hiring: 1. Select the right people. 2. Agree on deliverables (be crystal clear). 3. Provide proper tools and support. 4. Get out of their way. Your thoughts!

Brigette Hyacinth Absolutely agree. Your approach resonates deeply with my own philosophy. There's a tale from my own experience that mirrors your enlightened leadership. Once, I led a team scattered across time zones, from bustling cities to quiet countryside retreats. The diversity of their working environments was as varied as their backgrounds. Yet, underpinning our collective effort was a singular trust: the trust to deliver. Like you, I never fretted over the clock nor demanded a seat filled in an office. Instead, I focused on setting clear goals, ensuring my team had what they needed, and then—I stepped aside. This wasn't a leap in the dark but a conscious choice to empower. The result? A team that not only met deadlines but exceeded expectations, finding innovative solutions I hadn't dreamed of. Because when you treat professionals as adults, giving them the respect and autonomy they deserve, they don't just work for you; they excel for you. Your post isn't just a reflection of good management; it's a beacon for the future of work. In leading with empathy and trust, we don't just build teams; we nurture communities. And in these communities, we find not just productivity, but also humanity.

The reality is that between 2020 and now this mentality for companies has been brought forward. Giving everyone the opportunity to realize that we ARE all adults AND OUR WORKPLACE IS NOT JUST A DAYCARE FOR ADULTS. This has also allowed companies to see the gaps not only within their hiring process, but also they’re on boarding. Where are expectations are not clearly communicated. Which leaves employees with low morale and companies with high turnover.

Absolutely agree! Reposting with some additional thoughts: "I couldn't resonate more with this leadership perspective. Trust, mutual respect, and understanding are the cornerstones of a productive work environment. Prioritising work in delivering KPIs is effective as long as prioritisation occurs in consideration of the well-being and autonomy of our team members. Let's focus on selecting the right people, setting clear expectations, offering support, and empowering our team to excel. Together, we can achieve great things! #WorkCulture #Trust #TeamEmpowerment
