A Recovery Reflection with Dan 🤍
"Reflecting on life from surfing vibrant waves and basking in the sun, to sharing epic journeys and laughs with my best friend and wife, to hearing the sweet call of 'Dad' from my two incredible boys. Yet, amidst these joys, I’ve wrestled with habits that threatened to take it all away.
Thanks to the steadfast love and support of dear friends and family, wise guidance from our teacher, Jud, and the Mindshift crew and community, I explore the inner workings of my mind. Learning about operant conditioning and the dynamics of reinforcement helped me see the visceral rewards (or lack thereof) driving my behaviors.
Embracing mindfulness meditation cleared the haze, allowing me to truly feel, taste, and smell my experiences, seeing them for what they are. This awakening was pivotal as I began to let go of the habits trying to end my life effortlessly.
Now, five years into this journey of renewal, I'm deeply grateful to be here, living and cherishing this beautiful life.
Thanks to everyone who has walked this path with me."
