I bet 30% of your wardrobe is gathering dust 💭 Did you know that a third of the clothes in UK wardrobes haven't seen the light of day in over a year? That's a lot of unused potential – and a lot of wasted money. It's easy to accumulate clothes we don't wear. Maybe they were impulse buys, gifts that didn't quite fit, or items that simply no longer reflect our style. Here are 3 ways you can make a step in the right direction in transforming your wardrobe into a curated collection of clothes that actually have wearability. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗢𝗻𝗲-𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗥𝘂𝗹𝗲: If you haven't worn it in a year, it's time to say goodbye. Donate, sell, or repurpose those items to give them a new life. (Some say even 6 months) 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗢𝘂𝘁𝗳𝗶𝘁𝘀: Challenge yourself to create new outfits with the clothes you already own. This can help you rediscover hidden gems and gain a fresh perspective on your wardrobe. 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝗽 𝗦𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘁: Before buying something new, consider if it truly complements your existing wardrobe and lifestyle. By making small changes, you can revitalise your wardrobe and create a space that reflects your personal style and makes you feel confident every day especially as a busy professional. Have a blessed sunday people Peace 💋🤘🏽 #Personalstylist #shopsmart #wardrobetips

To date, my father doesn't own more than four shirts and four pants in his wardrobe. Surprising? No, let me decode his principle!! 🙌SIMPLE LIVING, HIGH THINKING✨ A principle we all have forgotten in this fast-paced ever-evolving world. We misinterpreted the entire phrase, "Change is the only Constant" to just changing fashion or changing trends and fitting into those. We tried changing our outer selves to let our inner selves shine. Not only fashion but lifestyle. We are all driven to portray our highly enthusiastic life, flexing our luxuries. Our wants are limitless, multiplying every day, every minute. Sustainability is all we can adopt. A sustainable lifestyle will not only help you save your wealth but also help you lead a much more manageable life. 💡Imagine cleaning a wardrobe with piles of clothes, compared to cleaning one with just four shirts and four pants, easier right? The time you save, Oh God!! My lazy bones would give an arm and leg for that!! And the simpler you become, the higher you start valuing things and you grow. Living to impress others, compete with others, reach society's set standards, and earn good crores, we let go of the important moments, moments we could cherish together, and celebrate together. Live every moment, and keep fewer shirts, undoubtedly not as less as four. Four, bruh don't know how that man even manages. But start with eight minimums. And ladies, no more saying "kapde hi nahi h, kya pehnu?" 😩 I'm sure we all can take a little step. Dropping my pen, and donating my shirts, donors dm. #sustainability #fashion #simpleliving #kudostopapa #highthinking

Rule of 5 Queen! Big hand to Rachel Arthur who survived a year of stage moments, new motherhood and a month in Bali whilst only buying 5 new fashion items this year. It was Rachel who originally drew attention to the Hot or Cool Institute report that identified the only way fashion was going to stick to its 2030 warming targets is if we all radically cut our consumption - and the industry cuts its production. Rachel has written about her journey this year for the #ruleof5 Substack page. Briefly, Here are the seven things she learned: 1. Stop and think. If I could only buy 5, I needed to first truly consider them, and second wait even longer to see if I still wanted them. 2. Raid your friends' wardrobes. I had a head start in that Radio 4's Emma Barnett is my bff. I made sure I loaned back though. 3. Swap. With a magpie friend in tow, I walked away from Selfridges LOANHOOD swap shop with Reformation skirt, Ganni A/S blouse and Paul Smith jumper for my other half. 4. Get a sewing machine. It was my birthday present and I really enjoy sewing. Big plans for 2024... 5. Buy 5. I really enjoyed planning and shopping for everything this year and have worn all on repeat. 6. Don't be rash. I messed up. I bought a sundress in a panic online that didn't work and it was the worst purchase all year. 7. Rent. I stepped up rental for work and regular outings. The best thing is you can be way more courageous with your choices! "Quite honestly, #ruleof5 has changed my attitude to fashion and shopping forever." Follow the link below to read more about Rachel's journey. If you're thinking about doing this yourself in 2024, you can also subscribe there to a free resource of tips, tricks, inspiration and encouragement. 🌍 💔 Did you know that the fashion industry produces over 100 billion garments each year, far more than we can ever consume? 🌍 💔 I've always been passionate about second-hand shopping, finding unique and timeless pieces. However, I still find myself buying too many new clothes. That's why I have decided to take on the #NoNewClothes Challenge and stop buying any new clothes for the next 90 days! 👗 ♻ 👚 At #Perwoll our goal is to extend the life of your clothes, reducing the need to buy new items. Our innovative Triple Renew Technology keeps your clothes looking like new for longer and it can even revitalize older garments! 💫 🧥 👖 #RethinNew #RethinkFashion I'm thrilled to share that we've partnered with the amazing NGO remake.world, which is dedicated to promoting climate justice and human rights in the fashion industry. The Fritz Henkel Foundation is also supporting Remake in their essential education efforts and awareness campaigns. 🌱 🤝 🌍 I'd love to invite Nicola Dalheimer, Eileen Nuyen (geb. Vieth) and Niklas Brill to join me in this challenge! Are you in? If you're ready to join the challenge, here's how to get started: 1. 💻 Register at https://lnkd.in/exaXVjRn 2. 👥 Create a LinkedIn post and nominate 3 people to also join the #NonewClothes challenge 3. 📅 Ask your nominees to repeat the same steps Let's make a positive impact, one outfit at a time! ⭐ ✨ 🌿 #NoNewClothes #RemakeWorld #Perwoll #Henkel #WeAreHenkel

How Can Affordable Men's Professional Clothing Drive Health Awareness? Answers: https://lnkd.in/gMqSYzVi #MensFashion #AffordableStyle #MensHealthAwareness #ClothingForACause Hey everyone! 😊 I’ve been on a bit of a journey with a clothing line that I started two years ago, but so far, I haven’t launched it. Initially, I focused on hats, got some great samples from my designer, but then life happened, and I hit pause. But now I'm pumped to pick things back up and expand into affordable professional men’s clothing! When I say **affordable**, I definitely don’t mean skimping on quality! There are so many essential elements that make men’s professional clothing work, and I've seen others create amazing pieces at accessible prices. Here’s where I need your thoughts: **Raising Awareness**: My ultimate goal isn’t just to sell clothes; I want to raise awareness for men’s health issues. Proceeds could help fund men’s shelters, which tend to be under-resourced. 💔 **Innovative Design**: Picture this—shirts and ties with little messages or stats about vital men’s issues printed inside! Like, how cool would it be for a tie to have a tag t...

To pay tribute to Mother’s Day, we premiere the series ‘Loved Clothes Last’ with my dearly beloved mother. A series all about the stories we wear and the memories hidden within the seams of our garments. It’s about the love affair we have with our garments, the kind-of-love that makes us want to wrap our clothing up in a loving embrace for a little while longer. By fostering an emotional bond to our garments, we create the conditions to want to care for, repair, alter, postpone the replacement of, or never let go of certain garments in our closet, therefore reducing unneeded consumption as well as the amount of clothing ending up in landfills. It’s about saying to ourselves, ‘Even though I could easily discard these dresses with a hole, stain or faded colors, I’m going to revamp them anyway, because they’ve been through so much with me and they always bring back memories. It’s about the traditional attire tucked away, and the vibrant fabrics that evoke memories of celebrations and joyous occasions. It’s about recognizing that while there will always be new clothing to buy and wear, the stories and memories hidden within the seams of the items already in our closet are one-of-a-kind, and that kind-of love will always be enough to make us want to wrap our clothing up in a loving embrace for a little while longer. Growing Sasii - The exotic plant species destination/ Founder & Director/Green Carpet-The Garden Centre | Specialist - Garden Transformations
Alia Bhatt repeated her wedding saree when she accepted her National Award. Samantha Ruth Prabhu repurposed her white wedding gown into a black cocktail dress for an awards function. These celebrities were lauded for going sustainable by repeating their clothes (Once!) It’s indeed laudable. Fact-check. Scores of women repeat their clothes numerous times. They convert their sarees into dresses, resize their outfits for their siblings to wear and so on. Second fact-check. Most of them do so out of budgetary constraints. Remove the constraints and they would love to redo their wardrobes imitating their favourite celebrities. But, that small percentage of people who truly resize, recycle and repurpose their clothes OUT OF CHOICE are the true heroes of sustainability because God knows, the fashion industry is not only a gamechanger in bringing in the moolah to the pockets, but it is also the leader in emitting high carbon emissions, polluting rivers and drying up water resources. I have been fortunate to come across many entrepreneurs at NSRCEL who are in the clothing business and are spearheading making sustainable clothing a way of life. A friend pointed out, “In the two years that I’ve known you, I haven’t seen you repeat a dress”. The secret?? I don’t throw away my clothes just because they are out of fashion. That’s my 30 odd year-old wedding saree which I’ve worn multiple times – sometimes showcasing it to the same audience and super proud of it. Here’s more power to conscious consumption! #climatechange #globalwarming
