These numbers show the crucial role of screening, and especially radiological imaging in reducing cancer mortality. In 60% of these cancers, screening is known to reduce mortality, and this should trigger actions: - Lung cancer screening with low dose CT needs to be rolled out in Australia. The decision has been made, now it’s time for implementation. - Breast cancer screening becoming multi-modal, with usage of the right technology for the right patients (e.g. MRI for women at high risk) - Prostate cancer screening will be improved by adding MRI - Colon cancer screening needs higher participation. With these improvements, a significant reduction in these numbers is feasible!

Did you know that people living in rural Australia are more likely to die from cancer than their metropolitan counterparts, with the highest mortality rate for all cancers combined found in Very Remote areas (190.7 deaths per 100,000 population compared with 150.7 in Major Cities). Part of this is that our reduced access to consistent primary health care means that cancers often go undetected, undiagnosed & untreated until it is too late. By supporting the work of RAM you can help make meaningful change for people living in remote Australia. Join today: https://lnkd.in/gGv2r_tY
