Veterans with mobility issues through being wounded, injured, illness or age, deserve to be able to travel with dignity, not be manhandked on and off aircraft like a sack of potatoes, risking injury, or death. They deserve to know their wheelchairs will not be damaged during a flight or during loading and unloading. United Airlines had the opportunity to have its replacement fleet accessible but chose not do. Interesting to read.
This election is historic for yet another reason: it’s the first time two GWOT veterans - both enlisted, to boot - have been on a presidential ticket running against each other. They couldn’t be more opposite, politically speaking, but my hope is Senator Vance and Governor Walz create a precedent of sticking to substantive differences rather than attacking each other’s military service. With <1% of the U.S. population serving in our Armed Forces in a given year and ~5% of the total population being veterans, service should be commended.
