Right now it is so important to recognise in Central Australia that jail is no place for kids. There are so many underlying issues at play, the communities certainly need to be in control of the solutions. I am hopeful that justice reinvestment can bring results, but sustainability will need to be key in this process. Funding for temporary fixes is useless, we need solutions to be community-led for long-term programs to achieve successful outcomes.
Jail is no place for our children. Great to see these justice reinvestment initiatives roll out around the country, led by strong ACCOs.
