Wright's Engineering Talent Demand Gauge for this week is at a surprising low of 3. This means the United States is at its lowest point in the past year with only three available job openings per Engineer looking to make a job change. Don't let this number fool you though. The actual number of Engineering openings actually increased by 5% week over week and is the highest we've seen since November. What's driving the Demand ratio down though is that the number of Engineers looking for new roles increased by 19% and is the highest we've seen since we began measuring this data a year ago. In theory, this should increase the talent pool for companies hiring Engineers.
