Lake Pontchartrain can pose a problem to anglers even during the best conditions. August is one of the hardest months to fish the lake because of the shallow depths and extreme heat. I've collected reports from Northshore FIshing Report since 2012 to come up with a monthly gauge that rates the probability of catching each type of fish that frequent the lake. Check out the updated version of the August Lake Pontchartrain Favorablity Gauge. https://lnkd.in/g5Ewa-C5

The fishing analogy for sales is a real catch: Process - Don't get discouraged if you don't reel one in right away, it takes multiple casts. Testing: Try out new tackle and lures, aka sales tactics, to hook prospects. Location: Fish where the fish are, aka deeply understand your clients. Bait: Use juicy worms, aka tailored sales strategies, to lure them in. Expectation: Keep your expectations in check, it's fishing, not a guarantee. Preparation: Get your gear in order for sales calls, just like you would prep for a fishing trip. #Stayhungry #trusttheprocess #Sales #catchmeifyoucan #freight #keepcasting

For all the bank fishermen out there... I'm now writing a weekly newsletter for Anglers .com that focuses exclusively on fishing from the shoreline. In my latest newsletter, I talk about how Lake Turnover can be beneficial to bank fishermen. Fishing during the turnover can be a great time to fish for bank anglers as the fish typically move to the shallows where there is “NO TURNOVER” because there is no deep water near the shoreline. So the next time the lake you fish goes through a turnover, make horizontal casts keeping your lure along the bank. https://lnkd.in/gGtn4rBa

🐟🐟🐟🐟 What is a #fish ladder? 🐠 A 𝐟𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐥𝐚𝐝𝐝𝐞𝐫, also known as a #𝐟𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐰𝐚𝐲, 𝐟𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐬, 𝐟𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐩𝐬, or 𝐟𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐧 is a structure on or around #artificial and #natural barriers (such as #dams, locks and #waterfalls) to facilitate diadromous fishes' natural migration as well as movements of potamodromous species. 🐠 all fish ladders: the #ladder contains a #series of ascending pools that are reached by swimming against a stream of water. Fish leap through the cascade of rushing #water, rest in a #pool, and then repeat the process until they are out of the ladder. 📍 𝑭𝒊𝒔𝒉 𝒍𝒂𝒅𝒅𝒆𝒓 𝒍𝒐𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑷𝒊𝒄𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒙 𝒈𝒐𝒓𝒈𝒆, 𝑫𝒆𝒍é𝒎𝒐𝒏𝒕, 𝑺𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒛𝒆𝒓𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒅. ✔ To find out more interesting clips, check out Narges Raeisi's profile.
