Every time I speak with engineering teams and engineering leadership - I realise that the iceberg is real and there is more than what meets the eyes to #ModernDayEngineeringteams #ModernDayChallenges Modern Day engineering teams face various challenges starting from misaligned efforts with business goals, prioritisation conflicts on critical projects, managing complex systems, ever-increasing SaaS sprawl, maintaining high levels of productivity and increasing delivery velocity. All of this while ensuring that Engineering teams deliver their best! Difficult? Yes! Impossible? No! Engineering teams need a stronghold on the basics - from how they are structured to how they operate, run and execute their projects. It does vary from team to team and how engineering leaders drive the team! But for all this to happen, one needs visibility into developer workflows and the engineering team operations, to see through blockers (what’s causing them) and actively indulge in data-driven conversations rather than mere subjective inputs and feedback cycles. Unfortunately, engineering teams have a sort of blinders that prevent them from seeing this 360-degree picture, leading to myopic views of the challenges and point solutions to these problems.
