"As an outside contractor working within the defense industry, I have seen firsthand the scale and complexity of the systems that underpin global security. While nuclear deterrence has been a key component of defense strategies, it is essential that we acknowledge the catastrophic consequences that would result from the use of these weapons. I believe that individuals in all roles, including those of us who support the defense industry as contractors, can play a part in promoting disarmament and reducing the risk of nuclear conflict. This includes advocating for alternative defense strategies, engaging in informed discussions, and supporting initiatives that prioritize safety and security without relying on nuclear weapons. What are your thoughts on this issue, as fellow professionals in or associated with the defense industry? Let's come together to discuss potential solutions and work towards a more secure world."

Members of the Senate Intelligence Committee sent a letter to the Pentagon asking the department to consider deployment of advanced nuclear reactors to secure critical infrastructure. Lawmakers want the Army to brief the committee on the service’s plans to deploy nuclear technologies to power military bases. The 2024 defense policy bill requires the Defense Department to consider advanced nuclear technologies for some military installations. With recent headlines highlighting the Nation-State cyber threat to our Nation's infrastructure, it's imperative that our military installation and national security functions can continue to protect our country despite attacks to our national power grid. "Doing a job" is an extraordinary article by admiral Hyman Rickover (1900-1986), the “Father of the Nuclear Navy” which was mentioned in a HackerNews discussion. This article resonates so well on me! If only more CEOs and company owners were implementing even 10% of the ideas of the admiral - it would have been a fundamentally different corporate world! This one-page article deserves to hang on the wall of every CEO and every manager on each level of any organization! If you have more time - I can recommend reading everything Rickover has written, it will serve you throughout life. https://lnkd.in/d2MqVCUU

Did you know Northrop Grumman used 100, employees to build and sell $39B in annual revenue in 2023? Did you also know Northrop Grumman ranks #4 in the Fortune 500 in 2024? They are doing their very best to stoke the fires of War. They have no conscience or humanity. They are one of the best companies in the world at building and exporting war machines. This company has the unique distinction of being able to kill more humans at scale than any other company, with the exception of State-developed Nuclear Arsenals stationed all over Earth. If that isn’t frightening enough, how may Mega war machine companies does “just” the USA have?

Ever wonder WHY NOTHING GETS DONE or it seems like your MANAGER DOES NOTHING? Many managers are doing the exact opposite of what Admiral Hyman Rickover (1900-1986), the “Father of the Nuclear Navy advises... "A good manager must have unshakeable determination and tenacity. Deciding what needs to be done is easy, getting it done is more difficult. Good ideas are not adopted automatically. They must be driven into practice with courageous impatience. Once implemented they can be easily overturned or subverted through apathy or lack of follow-up, so a continuous effort is required. Too often, important problems are recognized but no one is willing to sustain the effort needed to solve them. Nothing worthwhile can be accomplished without determination." https://lnkd.in/egWaJgZD

The most dangerous weapon in this war is not nuclear, it is data. My war play is not Lockheed Martin, Raytheon or Boeing. My war play is Palantir… The most valuable commodity I know of is data and in that I invest.
