Last week, members of our Southeast team volunteered with Military Missions In Action (MMIA), a veteran-owned organization dedicated to supporting Armed Forces members and their families. Our employee-owners including Lead Superintendent Eli Smith, Lead Superintendent Joshua Burke, Project Engineer II Michael Hauhn, Project Engineer I Kolten Ellis, Project Engineer I Shaun Seddon, and Superintendent I Cody LeBleu played a crucial role in the event. They helped move donated furniture and other essential items into the homes of veterans. Thank you to our team members for giving back to the veteran community! #buildingexceptional #HarkinsHasHeart

I am going to participate in this years Bataan Memorial Death March (virtual) a 26.2 mile ruck/hike in honor of the Bataan Death March in World Wa 2. I did this 12 years ago in person and want to give it another go this year. I am also using this year to raise money for Team Red, White & Blue please consider donating. (Link Below) Team Red White and Blue Mission: In the military, service members push the limits of their well-being to support the mission. That selfless service posture has always been necessary because service members of every era knew they may be called to war. As they move into civilian life, many veterans carry that mission-first mindset with them, neglecting their health in the process. We believe that veterans are America’s most resilient citizens — and it’s time for more veterans to prioritize their well-being first. Team Red, White & Blue (Team RWB) exists to guide them through that journey with real-life and virtual opportunities focused on building a healthier lifestyle because a strong focus on mental and physical health is critical to ensuring veterans’ best days are ahead. https://lnkd.in/e-P2_BmR #TeamRWB #Army #Bataan #AUSA #MPRA

91% of Ski-habilitation week Veterans are now in some kind of occupation, training or employment. 61% of Ski-habilitation week Veterans are now in full time employment. On medical discharge from the Armed Forces, many personnel can feel that this is the end of the road for them. It can feel like there isn't much hope or much chance for a new and positive career change. But these figures show otherwise. With the right support and guidance there is hope for a positive career pathway after time in service. While most #Veterans transition smoothly into civilian life, some face service-related challenges that expand the federal governments capacity to address. For those of us in the #VeteranSpace, the need often feels, unending. Consequently, communities, often unfamiliar with #military needs, must support these Veterans. Well intentioned people across #nonprofits, #government, and #CharitableOrganizations, assume what a Veteran needs, and often duplicate services or put resources into solving a problem that doesn't exist. At Veterans Bridge Home, collective impact, remains at the forefront of our mission. Using technology systems like Unite Us with our community partners like Mecklenburg County, North Carolina Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, and The Jeff Cohen Charitable Foundation allows for us to provide wrap around services across the social determinates of health. Even better? We can document those instances to demonstrate what #CharlotteVeterans greatest needs currently are and target our efforts on ensuring those partnerships remain strong. #VeteransBridgeHome #BeTheBridge

Entrepreneur, American Veterans (AMVETS) Department of Hawaii State Commander & AMVETS Hawaii Service Foundation President & CEO
A Call To Action: Demand Your Senators Support the VETT Act (S.677) Our legislative team needs your help to pass critical veterans legislation. We won’t be successful without voices like yours reaching out to your Members of Congress. The VSO Equal Tax Treatment (VETT) Act, a bill allowing all veteran non-profits like AMVETS and the American Legion to receive tax-deductible charitable gifts, is stuck in the Senate (S.677). This bill is crucial because Congressionally Chartered Veteran non-profits cannot have more than 10 percent of non-wartime-era veterans in their membership. If they do, the IRS will no longer let AMVETS & American Legion Posts receive tax-deductible charitable gifts, like every other charitable organization in America. And we think that’s a bunch of baloney. Veteran non-profits shouldn’t be penalized for welcoming home honorably discharged Cold War Era veterans. Our Cold War Era Veterans are invaluable members of our Nation and the AMVETS family. The law is unfair to them and their service. This outdated rule must be changed. Your Senators are the key to passing the VETT Act, and your voice is needed to see this bill enacted. CLICK HERE TO TAKE ACTION NOW! https://lnkd.in/g3JN9WbA #AMVETS #AmericanVeterans #AmericanLegion #AmVetsHawaii #Veterans #SupportOurTroops #MilitaryLife #MilitaryFamily #MilitaryVeteran #VetLife #ProudVeteran #VeteranCommunity #VeteranStories #VeteransHelpingVeterans #VeteransMatter #VeteranStrong #VeteranPride #MilitaryHero #Army #Navy #Marines #AirForce #SpaceForce #CoastGuard
