Stop saying the non-existent job is in-office. You can't even verify it's going to be in the office you say it will be. Stop. Stop ghosting candidates/applicants. Stop. Stop waiting until after you've interviewed candidates to verify with the 'employer' whether the job will be in the city where you've already lined up applicants to interview. Stop. It is also not possible to hire all of them. Here's what a recruiter does: ✔ Collects all resumes from all the platforms. ✔ Screens each resume, which takes time. ✔ Verifies important details. ✔ Calls the candidates, with each call taking 15 to 20 minutes. I understand it can be nerve-wracking for the person who applied and is seeking a job. But please try to understand that this process takes time. Please have some patience and faith. IN 2024, WE SHOULD GET MORE REAL ABOUT JOB SEARCHING AND HIRING. First off, cover letters need gone! Job applicants should not be expected to "write their motivation" for each and every application. Let's face it: employers need qualified employees to drive their businesses, and employees need jobs that pay the bills. Second, applicants should not be shamed for using AI to help them write their materials. While it’s not a green light to misuse the tool, but if the content is proofread and written in a appropriate tone, why not? Let's face it: employers use AI-generated emails and job descriptions, but they want authentic letters.. this doesn’t seem right. Third, can we leave the “job hopper” bias in the last year please? While sticking with a company for a decade has its benefits, who knows how many people were forced to stay in toxic, unfair workplaces because they were told that no-one would hire a job hopper? Needless to say that most people don't change jobs often because it's fun to job-hunt: they do it because they get laid off or because the job they've got is untenable. Thus, let's face it: screening people out because they haven't been at a job long enough, without even meeting them to hear the story, is poor leadership.
