Let’s rethink our national holidays. Some ideas: 1. Move Memorial Day (to May 30, July 3, or Nov 11) to restore its meaning. 2. Get rid of Columbus Day and Presidents Day. 3. Establish a new holiday: National Day of Service. Gift article: https://wapo.st/3UUOVBE

I went to the second of my 10-year HS reunions this past weekend. There is another video about my afterthoughts (https://lnkd.in/eZhb8VsC). But I wanted to share this pre-video on LinkedIn because there's a hidden message that I think is more important for this platform. I want to run for President (yes, the real POTUS 😣). While on my road trip, learning about America, connecting with people, I'm seeking to understand why we're so divided and what we can do to come together as a nation. This two-party system that we have has gotten too out of hand. I feel like, with the younger generations, the reason we're so "on the fence" about politics is because life isn't as black and white as the beliefs of these two parties make it at the end of the day. I feel like neither of them truly stand for Independence and freedom which is what makes life valuable and leads to happiness. There's been a small influx of late of younger generations into Congress and other government systems and some small wins in these areas. But I don't think we can get to a better future from within this bipartisan party system anymore. If my trip is successful and there is support for me to run, I will run as an independent party. Unfortunately, the 35 year minimum age will prevent me from being an official candidate for another two cycles. But we'll see how to cross that path when the time comes. The last point I'll mention for right now is that we need people in the system that are focused on working together to solve problems for all of America and not just being attached to the world that they are seeing. There are many qualified people in technical and non-technical advisement, leadership and decision-making roles. We need a leader who will be able to bring out the true potential that's sleeping behind bad bureaucracy. We need a leader that can make our pledge of allegiance meaningful again... One Nation under God, INDIVISIBLE, with liberty and justice for all. P.S. This is not me vs. anyone. This is me building a team to unify our nation.

Interesting read on the positive impact of local cultural heritage to wellbeing. 🏛❤️. A report published by Historic England and Department for Culture, Media and Sport sets out a 'statistically significant, positive relationship between the density of local heritage assets and self-reported life satisfaction, after adjusting for various socio-economic, neighbourhood and regional effects.
