Today is International Women's Day, my thoughts are wide-ranging. But today I dedicate myself to the sport. #Sport is important to me, if you start once you can't let go. No matter what sport in the world (international) we are talking about. If we compare women's sport to men's sport, far too little is promoted. #womensports #teamsports #sponsorship #womenempowerment #womensday2024

Day 6. Australia still leads the Women's Medal Tally! All EIGHT golds have been won by women, with the latest coming from the 4 x 200m freestyle team. We're calculating the tally according to medals won by women at the Paris Olympics. A reminder: You can catch the standard medal take pretty much anywhere! Australia is fourth on that list, with China leading (unless you're looking at certain American media counting the tally according to TOTAL medals won, and putting USA on top). Link to the full Women's Medal Tally in the comment.

#genderequality and #Olympics2024 The Olympics in Paris are over, you can find an exciting evaluation and facts here. Paris 2024 signifies an important landmark, commemorating over a hundred years since women first participated in the Olympics in Paris 1900. In 1900, a mere 22 women competed in five sports: tennis, sailing, croquet, equestrian, and golf, constituting approximately 2% of all competitors. Hélène de Pourtalès, a Swiss sailor, made history as the first female Olympic champion. From that point forward, the presence of women in the games has progressively grown, hitting 10% by the mid-20th century and surpassing 20% three decades later. We are only 6 months away from the Paris Paralympics! Excited to announce I will be celebrating with the Consulate of France in San Francisco by sitting on a panel of badass women on International Women’s Day with NBC Bay Area - March 8th! We will be discussing parity in sports and media coverage of women in sports. A topic I know well as a Paralympian. What’s your view of Paralympics in the media? #paris2024 #paralympics #iwd2024

HR Change Leads: Let’s work together to change company culture through people, process & technology I Management Consultant I Psychologist I Author I Trustee I Public Speaker I Podcaster
Confirmed: Imane Khelif's eligibility to compete in women's boxing at the Paris Games..... 🥇 Khelif went viral after winning her opening about against Italy's Angela Carini after it made headlines of a trans athlete beating a woman, which is not the case! Along with Taiwanese boxer Lin Yu-ting, Khelif was disqualified from the 2023 championships by the International Boxing Association due to failing gender eligibility testing—a decision the IOC criticised as sudden and arbitrary. Khelif, who competed in the 2021 Tokyo Games, has differences in sexual development (DSDs), meaning her sexual development is atypical due to genetic and hormonal factors. Despite misinformation, Khelif is a woman born with female genitals and has the right to compete like any other woman. The IOC's decision underscores their commitment to protecting the human rights of all athletes. Mental well-being is paramount, and Khelif’s journey highlights the importance of supporting and respecting the diversity of athletes. Its highly unfair to share such information is shared publicly due to the media hype. As we celebrate Khelif’s right to compete, let’s foster an inclusive environment in sports and beyond. How do we control these narratives and the spread of misinformation? #Diversity #Equality #MentalWellbeing #Inclusion #Olympics2024 #SupportAllAthletes

I redesigned the Olympics Paris 2024 logo to reflect France’s Hijab ban. — Isn’t it ironic that France is banning the Hijab (and other religious headgear) for their Olympians when their logo is supposed to symbolize women’s emancipation — a universal symbol embodied by iconic and influential women (Marianne). The allegory of women’s freedom and strength fall flat given France’s discriminatory policies towards women in particular. Their logo was supposed to be a strong signal that sport and its governing bodies are finally evolving… when in reality, they aren’t. #Olympicslogo #logoredesign #Parisolympics #olympics2024 #paris2024 #hijabban #olympicshijab #amnesty #womensrights #freedom International Olympic Committee – IOC Paris 2024 - Comité d'organisation des Jeux Olympiques et Paralympiques de 2024
