As I transition into my role as Manager, Fire and Life Safety at CF Toronto Eaton Centre, one thing becomes increasingly clear: Leadership is not just about giving directions; it's about getting your hands dirty, understanding the complexities on the ground, and empowering your team. ⭐️ Why does this matter? Over the years, I've gained invaluable hands-on experience working as a Fire Alarm Technician, and now, in a managerial capacity, I'm realizing how essential it is to stay connected to the practical, day-to-day operations. When you're side-by-side with your team, you learn their challenges, understand the equipment, and can make better decisions that lead to more efficient outcomes. 🛠️ Teamwork = Efficiency It’s easy to assume that management is solely about overseeing others. But real leadership is about fostering an environment where every individual feels valued and supported, and where processes are understood from the ground up. When we roll up our sleeves and work together, we become more efficient as a team—and ultimately, we’re better equipped to protect the buildings and lives we’re responsible for. 💼 Moving forward, I’m excited to continue applying this hands-on mentality while guiding my team and pushing for greater success in the fire protection industry. Here at LIONSISTER, we believe that large organizations can sometimes lose sight of the human element, which we consider the bedrock of a safe work environment.
