I find this episode so interesting.. When Harry Gollop and I started discussing the potential of creating Cognify Search in 2022, we were both aligned on the MDS being at the heart of the community we wanted to build. One of the areas I was reallly keen to explore was brownfield (or more traditional companies) adoption of cloud and modern data tooling/techniques. Over the course of the last 2-years we have worked worked with many of the start-ups and scaleups you would typically associate with the MDS, but we are seeing more companies like UK Power Networks going through cloud migrations, and now looking to use cloud data warehousing and modern tooling to make sense of some of their legacy data. In this episode, Matt Webb gives some interesting insight into some of the use cases and challenges associated with modern data in a traditional organisation. Many data professionals overlook traditional companies when searching for a new role. I personally think the opportunity to modernize a traditional org's data is brilliant experience to get on your CV.
