Yesterday, I had the honour of standing as the voice of the Canadian Truck Operators Association at the vibrant Truck World Show held at The International Convention Centre in Mississauga. The event was a hub of inspiration as industry leaders showcased their dedication and innovation, and I couldn't help but swell with pride as I witnessed the extraordinary contributions of the South Asian community in shaping the North American supply chain. Among the highlights were the best practices exemplified by JB Rand Express and SPS Logistics. These companies are not only driving efficiency in logistics but also investing heavily in their most valuable asset – their employees. It was inspiring to learn about their commitment to continuous upskilling through soft skills and leadership training initiatives. In particular, I was struck by the visionary leadership of Ms. Paramjit Kajla and Mr. Bob Randhawa. Their shared vision to elevate human capital within the industry is not just admirable but essential for sustainable growth. Collaborating with such forward-thinkers to work together to foster a culture of learning and innovation, is an honor.
