The holiday hopping season is in full swing! 🎁 Yesterday, our Birmingham team hit the stores to purchase Christmas presents for children and teens at The Lovelady Center. Each gift was selected with love, and we hope they bring joy to those that receive them. Growing up without father figures, we learned the value of support from our incredible single moms. They did it all, but we often wished they had the support they truly deserved. 💙 At Day1Dads, we understand how important that support is BECAUSE we’ve lived it. Without a clear path set for us, we’ve worked to create one for others. Through community and resources, we’re here to remind parents that it’s okay not to be okay. You’re not alone on this journey, and together, we can build a stronger foundation for the next generation. 🌟💬 ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ #Day1Dads #HeyMom #HeyDad #WearWithCare #ParentingSupport #CommunityCare #MentalHealthMatters #YYCLocal #CalgaryNonProfit #ItTakesAVillage #FatherhoodJourney #ParentingCommunity #SingleParentSupport #BuildingPathways #YYCLife #CalgaryStrong #MentalHealthSupport #TogetherWeRise #ParentingMatters #YYCCommunity #SupportForParents #CalgaryCare

The holiday season is about giving, and here's a meaningful way to make a difference: While you're checking off your gift list, consider adding something special for a teen in foster care. Why teens? They're often overlooked during holiday gift drives, but they need our support just as much. Think headphones, hoodies, gift cards, backpacks, or journals - items that can help them feel seen and valued. Every gift sends a powerful message: "You matter. You're not forgotten." Want to help? Write "gift list" in the comments of this reel to receive the list or contact your local foster care organization. Let's show these amazing young people they're part of our community. ♥️ #FosterCare #GivingBack #HolidayGiving #CommunitySupport #FosterTeens #MakeADifference https://lnkd.in/esETJMvf

🚀 **Exciting News!** 🚀 I am proud to announce the launch of Rolling With Dads, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering and celebrating fathers everywhere! When I began my fatherhood journey, I found myself in unfamiliar territory without the necessary resources, support, and community that would help me become a better father to my son. These challenges inspired the creation of Rolling With Dads. I established this nonprofit to have a significant impact on fathers so they never feel alone or unprepared to take on parenthood. Instead, they should feel empowered and capable of building strong child bonds, be exceptional caregivers, and have a community of dads to lean on when they need support the most. Created by dads, for dads, to enrich and strengthen the families in our communities. Our work aims to: -Support: Build a strong, understanding community for dads. -Educate: Provide expert-led workshops/clinics, and expert advice on parenting, health, and wellness. -Inspire: Share powerful stories from dads around the world. Visit our website, www.rollingwithdads.org to learn more about our mission and the programs we offer to support dads through their parenting journey. Join us in honoring the vital role of fathers. Your support can make a world of difference! If you'd like to partner or collaborate around any of our initiatives or events please reach out, we're actively looking for sponsors/partners that have shared brand values. #RollingWithDads #EmpowerDads #Fatherhood #Nonprofit #Community

New Blog Post: The "12 Days of Christmas" and the Spirit of Kairos: Holiday Gifts for Kids The holiday season is a time of giving, joy, and community. At Kairos, this spirit comes alive through our longest-running social impact initiative, Holiday Gifts for Kids, which has become as cherished as the classic "12 Days of Christmas." While the famous carol lists extravagant presents—golden rings, turtle doves, and pear trees—we focus on gifts that create lasting joy and stability for low-income families. This blog explores why this initiative is so essential, its ripple effects on both children and parents, and how it brings hope to families when they need it most. https://lnkd.in/gteUGg6T #SeasonOfGiving #HolidayJoy #KairosImpact #GiftsThatMatter #BuildingCommunity #HopeForFamilies #12DaysOfImpact #GivingBack #StrongerTogether #MakingADifference #HolidayCheer #SocialImpact #FamiliesFirst #JoyfulGiving

About 10 years ago, I watched our son pick out a holiday gift for a child he didn’t know. On the One Simple Wish web site, Jack sorted the wishes by geography and gender. He found a kid his age who lived in Pennsylvania. “He doesn’t have a baseball mitt. Can we get him one?” “That kid won’t get braces unless she gets a wish, can we help with that too?” A great way to engage our son, help him appreciate all we have and develop compassion for others. Not to mention that our entire family feels great when we’re buying gifts for people who might not otherwise receive them. Here are some groups that can help you find gift opportunities: 🎁 One Simple Wish: Contribute towards gifts for kids in foster care who might not otherwise get holiday gifts. 🎁 Marine Toys for Tots Foundation: Drop off toys at specific locations across the U.S. 🎁 Angel Tree Program (The Salvation Army): You can fulfill children’s wishes. You'll need to check with your local Salvation Army for details (they vary by location). Your office can also get a tree filled with wishes for your employees/company to fulfill.

In this world, we are all faced with a choice - will we be givers or takers? It's the small acts of generosity, like sharing a coveted baseball, that truly create lasting joy and make a meaningful impact. As we nurture the next generation, let's instill in them the values of kindness, empathy, and integrity. By encouraging these qualities, we can raise children who will lift others up, rather than pull them down. Let's resolve to be the givers - the ones who freely share, support, and uplift those around us. When we choose to nurture a culture of kindness, we have the power to make a real difference in this world. Though the path may not always be easy, the rewards of giving are immeasurable. Together, we can be the change we wish to see, spreading positivity and making the world a better place, one small act at a time.
In a world filled with contrasts, there are two kinds of people: Givers and Takers. It's the small acts of kindness, like sharing a home run ball, that create lasting joy and impact. We believe in nurturing children who understand the importance of generosity, empathy, and integrity. By encouraging these values, we can raise a generation that lifts others up rather than pulls them down. Let's choose to be the ones who give, fostering a culture of kindness and support. Together, we can make a difference! #Kindness #Generosity #Empathy #Parenting #Community #PositiveImpact #GivingBack

A Full Circle Moment: From Foster Care to the Boardroom If you had told me years ago that I would be serving on the Board of Directors for One Hope United, I wouldn’t have believed you. As a former foster youth, my childhood was filled with uncertainty. By the time I was 10, I had already moved through five different homes, cycling in and out of my birth mother’s care, experiencing instability, trauma, and the fear that I would never truly belong anywhere. My siblings and I were labeled “unadoptable,” a term that still stings when I think about it. But one person saw past that—our adoptive mother. She fought for us, believed in us, and ultimately, gave us hope when we had none left. That’s why stepping into this role with One Hope United is so surreal. It is more than just an opportunity; it is a full-circle moment. 👉 One—because sometimes all it takes is one person to change a child’s life. I know this firsthand because my life was changed by the unwavering belief of my adoptive mother. And now, I have the opportunity to be that one for someone else. 👉 Hope—because hope is what carried me through the most uncertain times of my life. It’s what every child in foster care holds onto when they go to sleep in a new home, when they wonder if they’ll ever be chosen, when they dream about stability and love. 👉 United—because none of us do this alone. It takes a community to uplift these young lives, to provide resources, to create pathways for success. The work One Hope United does ensures that kids who have been in the system are not left behind, that they are supported, valued, and given every opportunity to thrive. For me, this is not just a position—it’s a purpose. To go from being a child in the system to having a seat at the table, advocating for kids just like me, is proof that we can break cycles, change narratives, and build brighter futures. I am beyond honored to officially join One Hope United’s Board of Directors and to be part of a mission that is so deeply personal to me. Together, we can be the one to provide hope and create a future where every child is unitedwith the opportunities they deserve. #OneHopeUnited #FullCircleMoment #FosterCareAdvocate #Leadership #BreakingTheCycle #GivingBack
